All of us should realize that in a collective sense, our society probably deserves to get a little terrorism from some of these other countries. You cannot deny that our military has not made their lives hell at times, and this is seen to me as a "getting even" form of action. To ask you more, why do you think Raleigh is a target? I would undoubtedly expect our military dept. to finally be on their toes just looking for any more chances of a plane coming in that is not under the ultimate control of the pilot. And how many planes do you think are out there that will be able to make it past screening if they were hijacked? I feel that the media does all to well of a job capturing the sympathetic hearts* of Americans in their sensationalist coverage. I would stress to all of you that allowing your emotions to play a big role in your thinking on this subject will cloud your view from the reality of the situation. *sympathetic hearts: We, as Americans typically can see no wrong in harming other countries for the sake of capitalism, but when people harm our country, all hell breaks loose. It does seem like America as a collective is the "childish bully" of the nations in which it "plays" with.

oh i definitely think our society deserves some sort of revenge for the effects our policies have had on other nations.......but killing 10s of thousands of innocent civilians in the process is never warranted.______
9/11/2001 2:39:33 PM
Maybe not, but you cannot say that it will not happen
9/11/2001 2:41:10 PM
I've been highly sympathetic to the middle east in my discussions with people. If they were responsible for this they will get it no more...
9/11/2001 2:41:44 PM
our policies are policies.... other nations like ours hold charge of themselves.... and to warrant any 'excuse' or reason to allow such an event is... its insane.... killing the 20k or so people who were innocent just because you have been fed information to hate the US... if they spent half the time they did hating the US on to progressing themselves I bet they wouldnt be so fucking aggrivated with life... this is just BULLLLLLLL SHTI!
9/11/2001 2:43:51 PM
the death of innocent people is just a byproduct of politics, hence my avoidance of even getting involved with them
9/11/2001 2:45:57 PM
thats too true... wars are a byproduct of politics...
9/11/2001 2:47:45 PM
Byproducts of other things too, but when I say your religion can be the problem, I am the one that looks like an ass

this is why i like canada......have you ever heard of canada having problems or enemies with another country? no....and thats b/c canada keeps their mouths shut....they dont meddle in other country's problems...basically, if it doesnt deal with them, they dont butt inamerica is constantly running around trying to player mediator in many things we should just keep our snotty noses out of.....no wonder we have enemies
9/11/2001 10:24:42 PM
if you want real uninvolvement, there's always Switzerland. They're completely neutral.Of course, you better like chocolate and cuckoo clocks.

yet the sheep graze without being aware of this, and then whine when falling victim to the wolf, who got one of them because NOONE was looking....
9/11/2001 10:27:18 PM
At times I do wish we were isolationists but hell at times i agree we have to help out. I mean damn if we had got in WW2 earlier then maybe Hitler wouldnt have been able to conquer as much as he did nor kill as many Jews, Homosexuals and others as he did. If we let these fools gain more power in the Middle East theyd eventually try and come after us anyways I believe...
9/11/2001 10:27:35 PM
i agree Xnoid.....but then again, there is some stuff that we have no business in dealing with
9/11/2001 10:28:23 PM
I think why this is scary is because no one could imagine that something like this could happen in our country. Yes, this happens everyday in some smaller radical countries but nothing to the magnitude and extent of this tragedy, and for it to be so random and unexpected. This just sets reality to a more cautious level...this can happen to anyone at anytime. We have to appreciate every moment we are given because our lives can be taken away at any instant. I vow that I will make a conscious effort to live my life to the fullest and not to complain about the little things in life that cause problems.
9/11/2001 10:30:05 PM
who are you kidding, i would love to be able to have some way to monitor your life from now on to disprove your lil vow.
9/11/2001 10:33:01 PM
CG, i completely agree with youi think we, as americans, take for granted that we are the most powerful nation in the world....we think we're invinsible and nothing can stop us today, we were proved wrong
9/11/2001 10:34:30 PM
if thats the way you choose to live your life then by all means you can have at it...I can surely think of better things to do than try to disprove someone
9/11/2001 10:37:03 PM
and the sheep remain obvious...

3 quotes sum up my feelings on the topic of this thread."i fear that i am ordinary, just like everyone..." -billy corgan (that's for zerus )"our generation has had no great depression, no great war. our war is spiritual. our depression is our lives." -fight club"this is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time." -fight clubi urge everyone to fill out the form to join my little island in the sun, it's going to be like this huge, neverending lan party, and everyone has i.q's over 36. which excludes pretty much everyone. there will be an unlimited supply of microwave munchies and sodas. {humor is the best weapon against depression}
