The truth is, that these terrorist attacks prove something every time. We are not invincible, we are not in control. Our lives can be taken away in an instant, and praying is the most we can do. Prayer and rememberance, give blood, and try to help out as a community, as best we can. The point however is that despite how safe we think we are in such a well protected country, we are still highly vulnerable. But we cannot let this vulnerability deter us from living our lives as free Americans. We could all run and hide in shelters in fear of the next possible onslought of terrrorism, but that is just what they want. Shitty things happen, and life isn't perfect, but sooner or later we have to put this behind us, but we will never forget what happened today.

Amen, shit dawg!
9/11/2001 4:30:42 PM
We're not invincible, but we're not helpless.

Our airport security measures are pretty damned stringent, and yet something like this happens, no matter how much of a lockdown we put our country on, there will always be a way to get at us, the answer is to try not to piss of people and nations to the point that they feel the need to do these things.
9/11/2001 4:34:48 PM
We may not be invincible, but we're not at all helpless. We are the most powerful nation in the world, which is why stuff like this doesn't happen every day.
9/11/2001 4:37:49 PM
Fuck that, we played 8 years of Diplomacy games with Clinton... It just showed us to be weak, and making military decisions based on polls...We're going to piss people off no matter what we do, because we're bigger, stronger, and wealthier than them all... If you think appeasing to them is going to solve anything, it won't...We've got to flex our muscles again, and show all of them how strong we really are... And we rebuild, and resolve ourselves to punishing those responsible... We don't let the terrorist affect the way we live our lives, or make our political decisions, cause thats what they want...
9/11/2001 4:37:59 PM
But it can happen any day. Out of nowhere, there it is staring you in the face, jumping out of a newspaper, or off the tv screen.

There were no terrorist attacks under the Clinton administration though. Oklahoma city was an American, and that just goes to show, that it's not just an oustide threat.

We are anything but powerless. We only need to know who to retaliate against.the_drew
9/11/2001 4:42:00 PM
very true. as soon as it is known who, it will be very evident that we are not powerless
9/11/2001 4:44:25 PM
so then they can retaliate back ? With nukes maybe ? And then we can have not only WWIII but also the apocalypse, the end of the world as we know it ? Yeah, where do i sign ?
9/11/2001 4:45:17 PM
I'm saying we are helpless, not powerless. Sure we can go kill several million, fuck billion tan motherfuckers that we don't know, thousands of miles away, but there is still no indefinate way of preventing a terrorist attack like this again.
9/11/2001 4:46:41 PM
The Oklahoma City bombing has Islamic ties...it was not just Americans
9/11/2001 4:50:58 PM
god complex? fuck you for making any kind of personal references to me without knowing a damn thing about me...I disagree with your "politics" solution and you label me...look at the "political" solutions around the world... Israel and Palestine are in conflict again, great job Clinton did there... N. Ireland tension is increasing again, and thats holding together cause people are finally sick of fighting there... Africa is one big fucking mess...
9/11/2001 4:51:03 PM
It has nothing to do with Bush going to Europe, and taking a big crap all over it does it ?
9/11/2001 4:52:00 PM
It wasn't a personal reference, just a possible suggestion. I'm just trying to make the point that war is not the answer.
9/11/2001 4:53:22 PM
Alot of foreign countris have higher security than us.
9/11/2001 4:53:48 PM
jd maybe clinton didn't fix the problems in northern ireland and israel, but those conflicts have been going on for years, so neither did anyone else (including republicans)
9/11/2001 4:53:54 PM
I never said war was the answer...We must go, find the bastards responsible, and make them pay for what they've done... And if a country stands up and says we can't have them... Well then we have to go in and get them, which is the only point where war should be used... But at the same time, we must resolve this country to work to prevent this from happening again... Both civilian protection, and military...
9/11/2001 4:57:57 PM
while you punish them for their actions, keep in mind that it is not, nor has it ever been your or anybody elses place to judge them as people.
9/11/2001 5:14:28 PM
Death is worldly, but what really pisses me off, is when you say that they will definately go to hell, that is not your decision.
