I don't know. I heard an official statement today that strongly suggests Bin Ladin. Something like this has a lot of people acting very quickly, and I think we've solved our mystery.

my gf's dad is a pilot for american eagle and was supposed to fly out of boston when this happened. i know how you feel. but it is almost absolutely positive that bin ladin was behind this. afghanistan is housing him, and they wont hand him over and they are letting him live there, thus they are responsible for allowing bin laden to get away with this.

And also, they are saying that it could be some civil war in afghanistan deal on the news... so let's not jump to conclusions.

I don't think our government is dumb enough (bush / clinton / anyone) to attack with just the knowledge that we've been given from the news.

seems to me like the Executive Order on Political Assassinations should be rescinded; that way the U.S. Government could send people in to assassinate Bin Laden if he indeed is responsible for this. We're currently prevented from doing that by Executive Order

I think the thing is that bin Laden has a fortress that can reportedly withstand nuclear attacks... however if we were to sneak a spy into that fortress to assassinate Bin Laden, that would be illegal according to US Executive Order
