GOODFELLAS is not even the best Scorsese movie. I'd rank RAGING BULL and THE LAST WALTZ and probably TAXI DRIVER over it.

It's not the best gangster movie. That distinction goes to THE GODFATHER or THE GODFATHER: PART II. Hell, it was only the second best gangster movie of 1990 behind the Coen Brothers' MILLER'S CROSSING.

I'd put Raging Bull above Goodfellas, with taxi driver 3rd, and everything else after that for Scorcese movies

that said, Raging Bull is my number 3 fav. movie of all-time, with Goodfellas being 4th.

i dunno, not that i've lived their life, but i definitely can associate with alot of stuff in both of those movies, which makes them kinda special to me.

goodfellas was definetly the best mobster movie because it was actually down to earth about organized crime

it was truthful in the rewards that intice people to join the mob but in the end showed that crime just didn't pay

this is a prime example of perfection in filmaking and it illustrates everything that keeps me enthralled with scorsese's work: engaging plot, characters you can relate to, great cinematography. it definitely gets better every time i watch it.
