You think Dan Marino was more clutch than Peyton?
10/29/2006 7:47:49 PM
that's not the argumentthe claim was that he is the best qb to never win the super bowlthat man's name is Dan marino, not peyton manningand i say that wearing an 18 colts jersey as i type this
10/29/2006 7:51:21 PM
Dan Marino
10/29/2006 7:52:57 PM
not a fair comparisonbut it seems like nothing is
10/29/2006 7:53:39 PM
I have a Peyton jersey on too.....I think clutch should be factored in to best quarterback never to win the super bowl. How else do you judge, pass percentage? Yards? Touchdowns vs interceptions? Wins vs Loses?
10/29/2006 8:02:45 PM
Maybe you judge at the end of his career.

as of this second, Marino had a better career.... but baring injury or some weird Barry Sanders shit, Manning will easily go down as the greatest QB ever. It wont even be close. And I am not just talking statistically....

manning is ridiculously good. i had no doubt tonight that he would drive the colts for an easy field goal to win the game. its almost really weird when he throws a pick

10/29/2006 10:22:04 PM
^^^^no, you're talking as a Tennessee fan.good ole floppy cock.Peyton very well may be the best QB ever... but lets wait to decide that. The greatest QB ever wore the same jersey, just a different different number.[Edited on October 29, 2006 at 10:22 PM. Reason : kd]

not talking as a homer at all... being purely objective. If Manning plays 12-15 years, he will easily be the greatest QB ever. And like I have said before, you give him Bradys defense for 5 years, and I have no doubt he would have had at least one ring already. He has had a comparable defense for ONE year and the were a Roethlisberger fingertip away from the super bowl...^^ um, thats why I said he WILL be, but isnt yet... so I am waiting...dumbass[Edited on October 29, 2006 at 11:24 PM. Ok, Brady didnt win it last year... so he must have flopped. Once again, you give him Brady's defense for 5 years, and he would have one at least one of those years. And people conveniently forget the big games he does win. Like that amazing comeback against Tampa 3 years ago, hell the game today was impressive, destoyed a defense that was on a record pace. Its so funny how people hate on him, its like they cant stand that hes a nice guy, always says the right thing, is humble etc. People love to tear down a good guy.
10/29/2006 11:27:53 PM
Tim Tebow is better.
10/29/2006 11:28:55 PM
they certainly did whatever they wanted to this afternoon, in the second half at least
10/29/2006 11:29:17 PM
If saying I think he is fantastic and the best playing the game now, but not the greatest QB of all time is hating on someone, then I guess we are all just haters.
10/29/2006 11:29:57 PM
^^^ hahahah, I am working on my Tim Tebow theorem, hes so weird^ didnt mean you in particular. [Edited on October 29, 2006 at 11:30 PM. Reason : d]

So anyone else think I am stupid for saying Peyton should be MVP now?In a thread about a month ago I was about the only one to say he will win.McNabb came back to his normal self today and Steve Smith's team is losing too much.
10/29/2006 11:48:34 PM
^^ so you are telling me that Terry Bradshaw was better than Marino? no way.
10/29/2006 11:51:00 PM
10/30/2006 12:02:22 AM
Rick Mier would have had 10 rings with Trestman
10/30/2006 12:08:22 AM
so what exactly is the cutoff?I mean, could manning trade 30 career tds for 1 one ring? or would he then be too low in the stat category? what about the best season by a QB ever for 2 rings?
10/30/2006 12:09:09 AM
ive said it before and ill say it againwinning super bowls has nothing to do with a qbs talentits the worst way in history to judge which qb is the better qb
10/30/2006 12:09:27 AM
^ I agree.
10/30/2006 12:10:09 AM
case in point: trent dilfer
10/30/2006 12:11:17 AM
hahahha, yeah, so I guess good old Trent is the man compared to shitty ass Manning
10/30/2006 12:12:29 AM
peyton is gross. nuff said
10/30/2006 12:19:00 AM
The winning the Super Bowl logic is overrated.I mean does that mean Tee Martin is better than Peyton because he won a championship?
10/30/2006 12:24:35 AM
^ I was about to use that one tooand dont forget Ken Dorsey, Jay Barker, etc[Edited on October 30, 2006 at 12:29 AM. Reason : d]
10/30/2006 12:27:04 AM
hey now, dont dis on Barker, he did all he needed to do at alabama and i thank him for that
10/30/2006 12:46:49 AM
haha, I liked Jay... and Bama
10/30/2006 12:48:27 AM
Winning the Super Bowl doesn't mean that your a great QBNot winning the Super Bowl with great teams, however, indicates that you choke under pressure and/or cannot elevate your game when the team needs it most. Which has been the knock on Peyton since college. He's been on so many great teams, with zero rings to show for it. Thats not a fluke.

^^ their d has never been very solid. i mean hell, they let the jets score 28 and the anemic denver offense put 31 up on them today...peyton wins games, not their D
10/30/2006 12:58:33 AM
^^^ they have had a Championship level defense for 1 year (last year) and they came damn close to going then. He hasnt been on great overall teams, just great offensive teams. You are retarded if you think Manning has hurt the Colts super bowl hopes[Edited on October 30, 2006 at 12:58 AM. Reason : d]
