It was 90% biased crap.
Within 13 minutes they had police saying we need more gun control, there is no current count of the number of firearms in the country because of our lax laws, you are going to kill yourself or a family member if you have a gun in the home, mostly criminals have guns, yada, yadda , yaddda.

What is the going rate for a Colt LE Ar-15? removable carry handle, standard sights, 6 position stock, just the basics. A friend of mine is trying to get rid of one at what i think is a decent deal but I want to make sure. Im not exactly in the market for anything new since im building an AK now, but if the price is right ill pick it up.

What would it sell for now, or what is it worth?
That is currently two different questions.

Colt 6920's are ~1500 now. They were ~1000 just a few months back.
Unless your life depends on it, it's just not a 1500 dollar gun any way you slice it.

yeah, hearing the LE rate for these rifles and the going rate for the actual consumer... I think I would wait (or find a cop buddy to buy one and sell it to you )

also, I found out the answer to my question I posted a while back asking the legalities for driving through campus with a weapon in my car (so I wouldn't have to drive all the way to gorman or road past IHOP to avoid pullen or dan allen):

"If you are in transit across campus, and on state roads, pullen and dan allen, you may have a firearm concealed in your vehicle. If you alight from the car, you are not in transit. If you are in transit on foot, and on the right of way, a case can be made for you, but you may have a hard time explaining yourself."

so from how I read this, I can drive through campus as long as I don't stop for any other reason than traffic reasons. And this is coming from a CC course instructor who consulted his government buddies about it.

You might be able to fight it in court, but I think you would be asking for trouble.

Thats about what I thought. The offer is $1200 for a 6920 with an eotech thrown in (not sure which model). It sounds like a decent offer, just not sure if i want to bite.

^^well I wouldn't be driving around grabbing it in my hand.... I'd just like to not have to go out of my way

I never speed, and obey all traffic laws, so I don't see any reason to be pulled over, so I don't think it should ever be an issue

From the Attorney General's office, it was said that pullen is OK, but Dan Allen is part of campus.

Not that anybody would know, but I wouldn't want to risk it myself. Never know when there will be some random check point. I garuntee the people checking your info won't know that it is ok.

So, I tried out the 10/22 today.
The 25 round mag is junk. It jams every 4th round and gives the bullet a nice 20 degree bend.

Now I need a couple of the 10 rounders.

what brand is the mag? eagle is crap, butler creek and ramline have been good for me. Load it and let it set for a few days, then try it.

every 10/22 feed issue I've had could be attributed to shit ammo and not the clip, with the exception of a Ramline 50 round clip.

That's a very reasonable deal. Considering that used EoTech's go for $300-ish, you're getting the rifle for $900, a steal in this current market.

What kind of ammo? I've found that mine eats just about anything, and I've got the same magazine.
I can get you factory mags from Brownells for $13 apiece if you want to order some

I don't know why it was so hard to toss in the factory mag to go with that gun, or even the original furniture for it.

damn dude, you should have told me your were out of 22 ammo. I have .... 6000 rounds of winchester in the closet, and about 5000 rounds of Remington Golden Bullet. I could have parted with a 550 pack for you.

Well I'm going to get the G27 either this week or next depending on when I get some free time. I've also decided to get a custom holster from Little Bear. We are working on the design now, but so far I hear good things.

Posted this on the wrong message board....and found out how many idiots are on tww. Here it is on the right message board.

I have recently inherited an old semi-auto rifle. Fairly good condition, but it is not in prestine shape. The internals have a little surface rust here and there, but seems like nothing out of the ordinary. I have read online in a couple different places to use toilet acid in order to remove this surface rust.

Worried about a few things. Whether or not the removal of the surface rust on the internals of the gun will make it not work anymore, then you end up having to take it to a gunsmith? Is acid really the best way?

The barrel is not stainless, just black. What should i do with that? Remove all the finish and then repaint it? and with what?

Please, if anyone has any experience with this kind of stuff, let me know. I will also pay per hour if someone wants to do this, experience required.

I'm considering a trade with a friend of mine. My handgun for a rifle he has.
I know he needs to get a pistol purchase permit but once he gets that, how do we go about transferring the gun to his name, rather than mine? Does he just fill out the permit, give it to me, and I keep it for my records? Or do I turn it in somewhere to indicate I no longer own it?

Thanks

^^^There is no registering or transferring names or anything other than giving the pistol permit to the person transferring it.

Basically, he gives you: rifle + pistol permit
You give him: pistol

how long to you have to keep the pistol permit for?

how would anyone know that this whole transaction actually occurred the way it was supposed to?

having a CCP, do I even need to fill out anything if I want to get a pistol from a friend?

bout 300-350... i'd wait until the next gun show- there are usually some good deals on those (and most other 22lr pistols... I got mine at one). I think people get them as target pistols/beginner pistols and grow tired of them

people get tired of them b/c they take so long to break in and the quality is not so good sometimes.

the conversion kits are even worse.

not as bad as a walther, but it's not great.

^I was picking up my AK reciever yesterday at Gunner's Alley and noticed they were selling the mosquito for 300. I saw that it was $400+ at pdhsc and on gunbroker which is why i asked.

^^^I like my ruger 22 (it's a mark III 22/45) and it seems to be fairly accurate/consistent... I just like it because it is cheap to fire- i can rapid fire through 3 magazines and it costs me all of a buck

on another note, Has anyone seen the ruger LCR anywhere? It was released last month, but I haven't seen it anywhere or on gunbroker... I'm really interested in checking it out and seeing what it is like compared to the S&W and taurus ultralights. I realize I probably won't see it until sometime during the summer, but I was just curious. If it is nice, it will probably hit near the top of my list for a 38/357 revolver

i hope they redesign the thing. from the pictures i've seen online, it looks like crap. the people who have held it at the SHOT show also add that it feels like crap too.

hopefully they have some out soon, so that early adopters will give us the scoop.

The LCR is fugly.
As a Ruger revolver, it should work perfectly and should be built like a tank.

But...it's still fugly.
I'm in the market for a lightweight snubby and I'm going to pay a couple bucks more for a S&W.

S&Ws are by far my favorite wheelguns. In fact, they are the only wheelguns I shoot. But until they do away with that integral lock, I won't be buying a new one.
