perhaps dated, but well orchestrated and incredibly witty. while community has a lot of these same elements, they are at no where near the level of design.

agreed. I guess it just comes down to taste. I really enjoy Community and my wife and I DVR it and watch it every single week (which we don't do with very many current TV shows). It just doesn't compare to the level of hilarity of AD for me personally.

^^, ^^^ One thing I'll say is that overrated doesn't necessarily mean not good; it just means not as good as the perception

Also when thinking of top shows for me I don't go to a lot of comedies, The problem with comedies that runs over a certain number of seasons is that they start to just become one dimensional and almost parody themselves. Look at the first 4 seasons of Scrubs or so vs the last seasons. Early on you've got some great stuff but then it just becomes smarmy JD and shit. We can't know if AD would or wouldn't have gone down a similar path.

I fully admit its apples and oranges for a lot of these but I wasn't just thinking commedies. Most comedies are either lowest common denominator (Raymond, Friends) or so up its own ass (Curb Your..) or just awkward comedy with very little real construction (Tim and Eric ) I honestly don't think theres a lot of good comedy on tv nowadays

I do like Archer and Community but I'm not ready to elevate those too far up yet.
