Hey guys, So I am doing some research now but wanted to see if anyone has any exp. but I've been given about $4000.00 to get an interactive touch white board/monitor for a new comp lab that my organization is building. Our options are, but not limited to:Interactive touch whiteboardLarge HDTV uses as a monitorStandard projector and screen used as monitor. the $4000.00 needs to include install/speakers.

Now that this thread is about an hour and a half old, I'd like to derail it by asking whether "interactive whiteboard" is redundant. What I mean to say is that a whiteboard is by nature interactive. If you couldn't draw on it, it'd just be a wall.

My cousin is a teacher for a school in Yadkin county. They use Smartboard by http://smarttech.com/ and I was surprised at how versatile it was and how much it helped her teach. Resellers around San Deigo]

I enthusiastically second SmartTech stuff. Theirs set the standard, imo. I maintain about a dozen of them in my department, and they require no real maintenance or training to use.

if you go with smartboards try the LCD's instead of the projector setup. To me it's a WORLD better to use, with better controls and a better experience.just my 2c - they're all awesome.

Maybe not relevant since you have a reasonable budget set aside for a real one...but this is something neat one of the R&D groups was playing with at work.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSDxc2kFjms

what does ncsu have in the classrooms now? smartboard? I know it's a computer monitor that you can draw on, etc. and then a projector+screen.
