how would each series have changed? Say Sisko, Kirk, or Picard was on Voyager..would they have gotten home sooner, not at all? Or if Janeway or Picard had handled the Dominion threat. Discuss.

cisco didn't have a shiphe had a space stationyes it moved, no that doesn't makee fixee-fixee.the storyline was all written from a moral high ground that would have prevented different outcomes.

The Defiant, for all intents and purposes, was Sisko's ship. Also, I'm not saying the ship switched places, this is talking about if Sisko had been captain of Voyager or Janeway was the commander of DS9[Edited on September 17, 2011 at 7:06 PM. Reason : 1]

If Picard or Sisko was Captain of Voyager, the show would have been better. I do believe they would have gotten back sooner because Janeway was a total idiot sometimes. Im going to violate the prime directive today, but not tomorrow. The only way they got home was she "violated" the prime directive. stupid whore.Sisko was a bad ass, so if he had been in charge of the Enterprise, It would have been just as good.As for Janeway in charge of DS9, im sure she would have just folded over for the dominion or cardassians
9/17/2011 7:14:36 PM
Cisco was too 'brave' and would have lost the ship several times over BEFORE 7 of 9 came aboard.Janeway would have gotten the Enterprise destroyed several times within the first 4 seasons and would have lost against the Borg early in the game.Picard would have run DS9 fine, but Voyager was a family ship sort of - he hated kids, remember?

If Sisko or Kirk was captain of Voyager, I'm sure he would have used the Caretaker array to send them home the first day. If Picard had been captain, they probably would have destroyed the array, but they wouldn't have pissed off every race in the Delta Quadrant and gotten home sooner, especially when Q gave them the option. Archer would have gotten captured and beat up by the Kazon. Picard would have probably managed to prevent the war with the Dominion but would have refused to act as the Emissary.
9/17/2011 7:23:58 PM
he acted as emissary several times, he'd have done that no problem...and FUCK ARCHER AND FUCK :ENTERPRISE

If sisko was in charge of voyager his ass would have gotten back to alpha quadrant in the pilot via the caretaker array.[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 12:33 AM. Reason : ]

Kirk would have run shit in every single series.Everyone else is a tossup.

The best choice is obviously Han Solo.

kirk would have fucked so many things when he devolved[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 3:23 PM. Reason : not that that's necessarily much different from evolved kirk]

What kind of scumbag put families on a military ship and then sends it into combat situations.
9/18/2011 5:42:52 PM
that's just it, it wasn't a military ship, Starfleet never had dedicated warships (except for the Defiant). They were mainly deep space exploration ships.
9/18/2011 5:55:57 PM
^starfleet is most definitely military, and although the the ships were on missions of peace and exploration, they were definitely built with battle as a primary capability. the defiant class ships on the other hand were built solely as warships.
9/18/2011 6:31:06 PM
other than the last season of the show, how in the hell was Voyager a family ship? There were no kids until Naomi Wildman was born and then when those Borg children came on board. Other than that it was nothing at all like a family ship.
9/18/2011 6:33:35 PM
I've got a deep-face exploration ship...But seriously I do enjoy reading this thread. Though I have very little to add to it since I have not watched any star track in a long, long time
9/18/2011 6:36:04 PM
^^exactly.
9/18/2011 7:38:00 PM
i'm just saying that picard would have hated borg children running around, or little rhino girls (I know, she turned out hot but w/e)...wesley and alexander were too much for picard...they only did like 2 other kid episodes (picard became a child, and using kids to take back the ship).[Edited on September 18, 2011 at 7:58 PM. Picard's time was really the height of the Federation in terms of peace. There were no real ongoing wars. Kirk had the ever present cold war threat of the Klingons, Sisko had the Dominion War, Janeway was just lost, and Archer was trying to make a name for the Federation. There was no real reason not to have a ship with families.

If I was going to have families on a ship, that ship would also have a strict non-engagement policy. I can understand having them on a strictly science vessel, but if shooting is every a remote possibility beyond rare self-defense situations, they don't belong. "I know, lets grab the wife and kids and flex nuts with the Romulans along the neutral zone!"
9/19/2011 4:47:22 PM
That's why they had the saucer separation, however it cost way too much for the cgi to do it.
9/19/2011 4:49:21 PM
That is a bad-ass ship.
9/19/2011 4:59:00 PM
which enterprise was the giant dragonfly ship with the janitor and the stripper?

Lexx?

9/19/2011 8:32:58 PM
yeah that enterprise sucked
9/19/2011 8:34:47 PM
lexx is ok-- for me it is slow going though, because of the formulaic nature of the show. also, i do not find stanley tweedle remotely likeable, and i got pissed when they switched zev.
