Kerry Wood's retirement has made Chipper MLB's active leader in DL stints!

^ Only comes in this thread to bring the negative. GG.

I don't know how much longer the Braves can continue to run Minor out there. I guess he was not as horrible as he normally is, but he still gave up 4 jacks and was lucky to not give up big innings in the 1st and 2nd. Dude needs some AAA time to get his head straight.

They tend to bounce from team to team, though

Would be nice to see Minor start bouncing

watched some of the Gwinnett game while on my lunch break. Teheran looked pretty good but we don't need another right hander

by the way, do any of you listen to Chuck and Chernoff on 680 The Fan Atlanta? Favorite local sports show ever, REALLY good Braves and College Football coverage. On everyday from 3pm-7pm, feed available online, and in Tune In Radio, other apps, etc.

i used to try and listen to Jim Ross' radio show on AM 750 back in the day from Charlotte, but it was always too staticky to hear anything audible

^^^ Buy an ad

As for Minor, I honestly think the Braves are keeping him in the rotation simply because he is a lefty as if it matters one fucking bit at this point. The NL East is not loaded with a bunch of lefty power hitters anymore so it makes no sense.

The best non-Brave NL East hitters now are all righties (Wright, Hanley, Staton, Zimmerman, Pence, etc). Yeah a few guys like Reyes, Harper, etc are lefties, but having a lefty in a rotation is not critical in the East anymore.

Cincy has a very good team. They should push the Cardinals for the Central Division title.

I like Cincy's lineup because they have legit power hitters and speed, but that dman park is ridiculous. A few of the HRs they hit the last couple days were flukey.

Beachy got screwed in the 1st as he had Phillips struck out the pitch before the 2 run jack. Sucks that the Braves can't hit unless Chipper is in the lineup.

Wow the Braves were just terrible in the series with the Reds. If Chipper, McCann, and Freeman continue to be out, the Braves may not win again until next weekend. Pitching matchups this weekend against the Nats suck for the Braves and after the Nats, the Cards come to town.

How is this team 7-16 (or whatever) w/o Chipper? I mean it's not like he is Josh Hamilton or something.

appreciated how Gonzalez gave up last night and went to Livan in the 6th in a 2-2 game. Livan was throwing some 63 mph heaters out there, and didn't have a single pitch over 85. The usher told me "they picked up Livan for two reasons. He's cheap. And he's available".

only good thing livan has done this season was load the bases twice in two innings against St. Louis and somehow work through it.

He did fool Harper his first at bat. Second time around, not so much. Livan looked lie pure doodoo last night Ernie, it was pretty atrocious. And it was obvious after he walked the first batter he faced on 4 pitches. But yeah, I guess it was a good move by Gonzalez. Yup.

gracious Ernie, i tend to agree with most of your posts on TWW. but sometimes you're message board persona is that of a douche. case in point, you're snarky little reply to my earlier post where i was simply commenting, tongue-in-cheek, about how terrible Livan was last night. i really hate myself for even responding. my bad homie. you win, i copped out of an internet battle, and realize that i'm a fool for even responding to anyone on this message board.

and really, i know you're just pissed, like me, that the braves are in the midst of a total poop of a stretch. it saddens all of us. hanson just shit on all of us today.

The Braves are making excuses during this amazingly embarrassing losing streak since Chipper, McCann and FFF have been out. Truth is the pitching has been so shitty (SP and pen) that they would lose these games anyway. Fucking sucks that the Braves don't have any pitchers worth a shit that can stop this bleeding.

Hey guys! Remember the stretch back in 2010 where we lost 9 in a row and still made the playoffs, and probably should have won the first series?? I do. The hitting will come around again, especially once everyone gets back regularly healthy. The pitching staff needs to get their heads out of their asses right now though. Fucking send Minor back to gwinnett and call up teheran or bring back jurrjens, he obviously has no clue what he is doing right now.

From 1st place to last place in a little over a week. GG Braves.

Seriously though it's not like the Braves are getting bad breaks or losing close games. They are playing like the Cubs or Twins and simply getting their shit pushed in. Hard to watch this especially since no one on the teams seems to even give a damn except maybe Hinske. I don't think Kimbrel has pitched since the Rays series.

Some day somebody's gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don't you know?
Don't you know things can change
Things'll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things'll go your way
Hold on for one more day

Well my prediction that we would lose 10 straight came up a little short. Damn you Uggla for actually doing something productive. Honestly though, the Braves still did not hit worth a damn last night, simply got the big hit when they needed it.

Hopefully getting Medlen back into the rotation soon will help...
