Always considered it Monday and never even thought about it being another day.Yet a few people at work are adamant that SUNDAY is the start of the week. This just absolutely blows my mind. I can't even consider another day than Monday.Sunday is the end of the weekend, and you start your week on Monday. Then, I looked at some calendars and sure enough, most I looked at have Sunday listed as the first day.I'm not religious at all, so maybe that has something to do with it???

SQL Server is usually defaulted to Sunday as day 1.I've always gone by Sunday being the first day of the week.

It's Monday for me, but if I were answering a question, I'd prolly say Sunday based on calendars. Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekEND right?

Interesting. I have always regarded Sunday as the first day of the week. But Sunday is also the "day of rest" which would be on the 7th day according to the Bible, to answer your religious question. Unless you look at it as the Jewish Sabbath, which is Saturday, and not the Christian day of rest... and in the New Testament, Sunday is the "first day of the week".Europe starts the week on a Monday. The international standard for representation of dates and times states that Monday is the first day of the week.[Edited on April 9, 2012 at 4:30 PM. For me, Monday is day 1.

....and on the 7th day, the lord rested.7th day = sunday, the sabbath day, day of rest and worship. Therefore, monday would be the true beginning of each 7 day weekly cycle.

Monday starts the week as far as me and my own mental accounting go. However, calendars need to have weeks start on Sunday so that the work week is properly centered.
