Probably favorite dish is sukiyaki.Cocos curry however is the shit, whenever im in LA for business i go to the only one in the us. Dont think ill be taking too many more trips to japan.

^ Hey Bro, you mad?Just because you've heard about it on Alton Brown or the food channel doesn't make you some sort of an expert.The cows that Ishigaki-gyu is made from are generally exported from the island to places like Matsuzaka and Kobe to make the famed Kobe/Wagyu beef.The only problem being is that those ranchers have gone a bit nuts and over-marbled (IMO) their meat. To me, it tastes like beef-flavored fat.On the other side Ishigaki-gyu is generally less marbled, but just as tender.
