This happened to me once in high school. I saw crazy rainbow spinners everywhere and a weird whooshing noise occurred. All followed by the feeling of being stabbed in the front left of my skull. The only way it felt better was by sitting in an upright position with my head between my legs. Shut sucked, yo. I haven't had one since.

I get them every so often, followed by a dull headache that lasts for ages. I can usually tell when it's starting, and if I catch it right after it starts, and take some ibuprofen, the headache is usually minimal and the auras go away faster.
4/26/2012 7:33:40 AM
^Same for me. Right before it happens, it seems like my sense of spatial awareness diminishes and I can't tell where my hands are. It's a really strange feeling.Triggers for me seem to be related to amount of caffeine consumption and lack of sleep. Also, like the Wikipedia says, if MSG has recently been in my diet, they can happen.
4/26/2012 8:35:22 AM
The last one I had was sparked by reading in the sun without sunglasses on. I'll never make that mistake again.
4/26/2012 8:38:23 AM
Goddamn I'm glad I don't get migraines.

do you sleep enough?eat right?exercise enough?Lower stress levels sufficiently?Fatigue your mind less often?
6/13/2012 10:10:03 AM
aura only lasted 20 minutes. no headache so far.i'm pretty sure it's triggered by coffee + lack of sleep
6/13/2012 10:11:28 AM
i had this 2 sundays ago around 10ish in the morning. it lasted about an hour & no headache followed though. i felt pretty good otherwise while it happened. later around 5pm i got really dizzy for maybe 40-50 mins. then around 1030pm the left side of my face between my eye, nose, & lip was numb, heavy feeling, & slightly slightly swollen. called the OB's office the next morning & they said go to the ER. ER just kinda shrugged & sent me home. it was a tiny bit painful on monday, then completely gone the next day.
6/13/2012 10:37:23 AM
I am having this now for the second time in 3 days. I guess it might be sleep, because I haven't had any caffeine or eaten anything different than normal. I didn't have a migraine with the last one, so I hope today is the same.

In my mind the first picture is a depiction of every single spec of pollen in that entire field attacking my sinuses.

I had tunnel vision with my migraines. It's like someone shined a bright light from the corner of both your eyes. Annoying as hell. Then the tunnel vision would disappear, you would think you're fine, then shortly afterwards I had the pain from hell! Once it actually made me throw up in my mother's car. She was none to happy. Made me get out so she could clean it up a bit, which sucked as it was a sunny day. I slept the sleep of death each time and woke up feeling better, but still like shit.I haven't had one for years, although I did get tunnel vision once after I had returned from China. It didn't turn into a migraine, as I just went to sleep almost immediately when I had tunnel vision. Woke up fine. I was still adjusting back to EST, so I attribute it to that. However when I came back from Germany last year, I didn't have an issue.

I, too, have never had a migraineI do get crazy light sparks every once in a while, like this:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_field_entoptic_phenomenonexcept its yellowish, usually happens if I do something like dry my hair to fervently
6/25/2012 1:06:56 AM
I'm good for about 2 migraines a year or so. I know it's coming because I start having trouble adjusting focuse when I'm moving around. If I'm sitting still I'm okay but if I'm having to drive or walk around I can hardly see cause my eyes don't adjust to the motion well. Scared the shit outa me the first time and made me so nauseas I threw up.

Evolution was stupid for inventing age. Our body has the capability of sustaining itself yet it decides to crap out by design over time.
6/25/2012 1:37:04 AM
None of use would have ever been born if humans didn't age and die.
6/25/2012 1:40:02 AM
We could potentially grow into adults and stay there. We'd all look 20-25 yo.
6/25/2012 1:42:58 AM
happening againwhat the shit
6/25/2012 12:05:18 PM
Did you get that twinkle in your eye, swinkle?
6/25/2012 12:08:39 PM
entirely too many twinkles. bah.
6/25/2012 12:10:44 PM
Imagine the kinds of threads we're going to see in our 40s and 50s
6/25/2012 12:12:53 PM
Is this what you see, GeniuSxBoY when Eaton Bush drops a load in your eye?
6/25/2012 12:42:24 PM
Why do you want to know?
6/25/2012 12:51:35 PM
^^ That one looks like some kind of monster/dimensional warp zone or something out of a cheesy SyFy channel movie to me. Though it's also a little closer to mine than the one in the OP. Mine is waning now. Kind of.

scintillating skooma is where it's at
6/25/2012 1:14:58 PM
6/25/2012 1:14:59 PM
yeah society would be pretty interesting if the only way people died is if other people killed them
6/25/2012 1:15:00 PM
^^ if by "we" you mean "people tens of thousands of years ago" then yes. Like I said, none of us would be here if humans were immortal.
