Hook the kids in high school/college by offering them easier binge drinking opportunities. Fucking gold.ibt[old] (I know it's been around for a little while, but haven't seen anything on t-dub)
4/30/2012 10:03:28 AM
Needs to be on the bottom
4/30/2012 10:04:46 AM
because a hole in the can is really going to be what puts kids over the "binge drinking" edge
4/30/2012 10:08:22 AM
if it's gonna happen anyway, at least make it easier.
4/30/2012 10:09:53 AM
I had not noticed this and I get miller lite pretty often. I think I have been getting bottles lately though.
4/30/2012 10:10:45 AM
4/30/2012 10:14:30 AM
because $ 10 for a funnel, and 2' of 1" hose is thaaat expensive and hard to come buy..btw... not a new idea thoughmolson cold shots used to have a target on the bottom for shot gunning the beer.
4/30/2012 10:29:09 AM
i agree with OP and thought the same thing
4/30/2012 10:30:54 AM
The overreaction people have to "binge" drinking is almost as bad as the hysteria of internet bullying.
4/30/2012 10:32:54 AM
^^^ I don't think they're expecting every kid to become a Miller Lite drinker because of this. My guess is that they're thinking of kids making a quick stop by the gas station/grocery store on the way to a party/beach/tailgating event, are in a hurry to get fucked up and say, "lets get the Miller Lite shotgun beer."Bottom line is that this gimmick will more than likely give them a few extra Miller Lite lifetime drinkers. So it's a win. They are behind Bud Light/Bud/Coors Light...and something like this is actually different (the Vortex thing was pretty dumb).[Edited on April 30, 2012 at 10:35 AM. Miller Lite scientists need to get back to studying which is its top attribute: whether it is the "tastes great" or the "less filling".
4/30/2012 10:57:55 AM
seriously, who wants to play power owl or do beer bongsI'm Krallum and I approved this message.
4/30/2012 10:59:40 AM
But how can you tell if it's really cold?
4/30/2012 11:00:31 AM
Can someone teach me how to play Power Owl?
4/30/2012 11:01:18 AM
you drink a shots worth of beer every minute for 60 minutesI'm Krallum and I approved this message.
4/30/2012 11:01:46 AM
You can't take "shots" of beer.
4/30/2012 11:02:40 AM
No no, Power Owl is a Harry Potter drinking game. You take a sip of beer everytime Harry's owl makes an appearance.
4/30/2012 11:02:47 AM
power owl is a bitch!
4/30/2012 11:03:52 AM
4/30/2012 11:15:13 AM
lol at Power Owl. Drink til your head spins?
4/30/2012 11:17:04 AM
i thought it involved drinking while owling.
4/30/2012 12:29:29 PM
Calling this idea brilliant is like calling the vortex bottle promotion brilliant. In which case, you have been dumbed down to levels last seen in the movie Idiocracy
4/30/2012 12:42:28 PM
this is nothing newthis is how beer cans were drank out of before pop tops were inventedso hold back on your outrage
4/30/2012 12:42:53 PM

4/30/2012 12:51:03 PM

4/30/2012 12:54:57 PM
I'd like to see one of the mega-brewers actually put out a decent tasting beer rather than constantly fucking with the packaging.
4/30/2012 12:56:55 PM
that would cost more money... imho miller IS the most drinkable beer produced on that scale.
4/30/2012 12:58:42 PM
You have to look at the status of the economy and the money. It's more profitable to not do anything yet wow a couple people into buying miller over budweiser with a gimmick that costs the price of the machine that punches a punchtop into a can.[Edited on April 30, 2012 at 1:03 PM. Reason : actually it's probably just a solidworks can-top design that is different and uses the same machine]
4/30/2012 1:00:30 PM
It's a no-lose situation for Miller.First...the mega-breweries are never going to change their beer or make new ones. They are making too much money.Second...they're not going to change the minds of older (at least 25 and up) people who already have their set beer. You don't have many people switching from Bud Light to Miller Lite at the age of 30.You can only try to influence the kids who are just starting to drink...which is where this is aimed.
4/30/2012 1:08:03 PM
It will definitely do well on college campuses especially ones with a strong drinking culture like penn st.NCSU has a pretty muted drinking culture compared with other schools.[Edited on April 30, 2012 at 1:10 PM. Reason : .]

I've always preferred making a small hole near the top of a beer and then drinking through the intended mouth hole. less spillage and better speed.
