sweet free money.so what's the lawsuit about?[Edited on May 24, 2012 at 9:03 AM. Reason : .]

Seems to be about people who don't know how to read expiration dates.
5/24/2012 9:04:09 AM
interesting. why is that groupon's problem? expiration dates seem pretty clear to me.

sounds like a lot of whiny bitches got together to hire a lawyer with nothing better to do

Is it because it's more of a gift certificate than it is a coupon? Coupons have expiration dates, but you don't pay anything significant to acquire them.
5/24/2012 9:20:10 AM
next up...class action lawsuit against Kroger for not accepting expired coupons
5/24/2012 9:20:11 AM
^^ but you never lose what you paid...so it's not like a "you didn't use your groupon in time, sucks to be you, thanks for the money!"maybe the point is that you don't get your cash back, you just get what you paid in groupon bucks (or whatever)?
5/24/2012 9:21:27 AM
^^I thought some gift certificates did have expiration dates? And groupons don't really expire. The deal expires, but you still can use the amount you paid for the groupon.

how much can you get?
5/24/2012 9:29:53 AM
Yeah crappy gift certificates definitely have expiration dates. I always thought that was kind of bs.

I recently had to do that with my Groupon for Teriyakin'
5/24/2012 9:32:58 AM
I have a Holly Aiken/Stitch Groupon and a carpet cleaning groupon to useI'll be pissed as hell if I let those expire
5/24/2012 9:39:16 AM
Didn't that Stitch one expire forever ago? Or did she put out a second one?
5/24/2012 9:53:17 AM
it was on groupon like 2 days ago
5/24/2012 9:58:47 AM
Wait, so I can still claim the money I spent on a groupon if it expired...but not the groupon itself?
5/24/2012 10:08:21 AM
Then maybe that's it. The few times we had expired groupons; they refused to accept them in anyway. There was no mention of "but you can still put the value paid toward your meal" or whatever. ::shrug::

^^ It says it on the fine print of the voucher when you print it out, but that doesn't mean the teenager behind the counter knows that. I've had a couple of vouchers where I've had Groupon give me credit because the store was being a douchenozzle about redeeming the voucher.

Uh, I already called my lawyer...
5/24/2012 2:33:17 PM
cool, you should pay him a few hundred dollars in billable hours to get your $30 in couponsthats a net win (for your lawyer)
5/24/2012 2:36:21 PM
He's going to charge me $875. It's a steal!
5/24/2012 2:39:39 PM
he should use that fee to get you a better camera for a wedding present
5/24/2012 4:04:10 PM
I just realized that I don't think they're giving out money, but vouchers to replace expired groupons from the past.Shoulda read this shit.

Groupon email of the day:
5/30/2012 1:40:08 PM
I'm going to be putting in a claim here shortly. I had a $40 groupon that I bought for $20 that expired. I went to the restaurant and they told me they don't take Groupons anymore and to take it up with Groupon. I sent it to Groupon and they referred me to this settlement. I just want a Groupon credit.
