Where and why!
6/4/2012 9:06:04 PM
Are you asking a question or is 'Where and why' the name of your favorite city?
6/4/2012 9:09:35 PM
I'll go first: My favorite city is SF because I love the fog horns and the bridges
6/4/2012 9:10:16 PM

6/4/2012 9:10:34 PM

Portland, OR
6/4/2012 9:16:24 PM
Portland is a very close second, and also my home for the last 3 years. Sometimes its nice to have a change of scenery.

Chicago for everything
6/4/2012 9:32:05 PM
Whats your favorite city for being pretentious?
6/4/2012 9:32:18 PM
Miami or all of southern California!^^^I am released to do so about once a year.[Edited on June 4, 2012 at 9:35 PM. Reason : except San Diego. San Diego is awesome, and doesn't fit in with the rest of SoCal]
6/4/2012 9:33:45 PM
San Diego, because it is the promised land.(although maybe the CA-bullshit would get on my nerves if I actually lived there).[Edited on June 4, 2012 at 9:35 PM. Reason : to include the outlying areas, like Carlsbad, La Jolla, Coronado, etc.]
6/4/2012 9:34:22 PM
I haven't travelled much, but I fall in love with Miami every time I go (not South Beach)I hope to get out of NC more...may hit Nashville next month to start off (flame away)
6/4/2012 9:49:26 PM
Chicago as far as a "real" city because of the river, lake, trees, people, food (see: Italian beef sandwiches, pizza, etc.) and I have family up there. Would suck in the winter though but much cleaner than NYC. San Fran is also very nice. Raleigh is my hometown and I really love it here. This city has really grown up with me, and continues to become even more of a hidden gem of the South. Savannah is my favorite small city outside of Raleigh. Charleston is close behind. Savannah for the live oaks, the food, the people, the lenient alcohol laws (open containers allowed, drink 3am+), the history and all of the beautiful squares that come alive at night. If Savannah had a better economy, I'd move there for a while. Charleston is also very nice and has exquisite low country food, beaches, access to the Ocean, great guy to girl ratio, gorgeous women, and all of the Civil War history is just the icing on the cake. However, the downtown is pretty small and outside of a few streets, it can get pretty sketchy

6/4/2012 9:52:26 PM
Charleston, SC
6/4/2012 10:19:41 PM
Denver. Tons of brewpubs, has seasons, close to slopes, less fat people, awesome backdrop of the Rockies.I have yet to experience many west coast cities, though, as a grown-ass man. Nor as a grown ass-man. I do like LA, but I'm sure after living there it would get old, fast. I'd like to hit up Seattle and Portland some time soon and appease my inner hipster.
6/4/2012 10:23:40 PM
Charleston, Sc.Agreed.
6/4/2012 11:10:58 PM
I'm pretty fond of Tampa.
6/4/2012 11:19:27 PM
I also really love Burlington, Vt. And I always miss Raleigh
6/4/2012 11:38:03 PM
^^oh noes.
6/4/2012 11:40:46 PM
Charleston or Portland (Ore.)but Charleston is way too small live full time, and Portland is just so far away
6/5/2012 1:22:35 AM
Atlanta, because of all its culture.
6/5/2012 1:44:40 AM
Jackson, Wyoming
6/5/2012 1:51:03 AM
^That place is fantastic. Charleston or Savannah would be my favorites though.
6/5/2012 2:03:34 AM
My travels across the US have been somewhat limited (heavily east coast, with most trips out west to go skiing and nothing more) so my choice is New York City. It's unlike any other place in the US, and I suppose since I'm originally from the area has some sentimental value as well.
6/5/2012 8:40:29 AM
I live in New York so I guess New York.Charleston and Minneapolis are also high on the list.
6/5/2012 8:47:59 AM
^don't forget where you came from son!
6/5/2012 9:02:43 AM
NYC hands down. If I could afford to live my current lifestyle in Manhattan I'd do it in a heartbeat. But I'd have to be making a shitload more money than I do now to accomplish that
6/5/2012 9:04:04 AM
^^ ha my parents are moving to Minnesota where my mom is from. I have no family in North Carolina.I got alittle sad.
6/5/2012 9:08:31 AM
Charleston, where I live. After that...I like Denver.
6/5/2012 9:11:13 AM
^do you walk everywhere for the most part?
6/5/2012 9:16:41 AM
I've got four beach cruisers in my shed. My gf and I ride bikes everywhere unless it's pouring down rain. Obviously we have to drive to the beach...but that's it.
6/5/2012 9:20:31 AM
san fran...not even close
6/5/2012 9:25:05 AM
^^yeah, that's nice. our place is in Mt. Pleasant which is just a disaster right now. We are right off the IOP connector so we can walk/bike to a few bars/restaurants, the really nice Piggly Wiggly, and things like that. Then the drive into Charleston is a headache but once there i'm back in love with it.]
6/5/2012 9:28:17 AM
i tried to get a job in charleston. really wish i would have found one[Edited on June 5, 2012 at 9:29 AM. Reason : ]
6/5/2012 9:29:05 AM
There aren't too many bad locations in Charleston. If you're not downtown, you're close to the beach. You can be a little too far down 17 in both directions, but that's about it. I split my first 6 years here living on Sullivans Island and downtown, and now I'm permanently on the peninsula. I just don't think you can beat living downtown. There's so much shit to do within walking/biking distance...its quite lovely.[Edited on June 5, 2012 at 9:32 AM. Reason : .]

Raleigh is my hometown and I really love it here. This city has really grown up with me, and continues to become even more of a hidden gem of the South.
6/5/2012 9:51:07 AM
After 8 years here, the 10 square miles that constitute the District of Columbia are home for me, and continue to be my favorite place to be, even though there are other places like SF, Denver, the NE Corridor, etc. that I thoroughly enjoy visiting.
6/5/2012 9:55:36 AM
chadbourn, nc or chatanooga tn
6/5/2012 10:02:56 AM
Greensboro, NC
6/5/2012 10:06:36 AM
Holy shit, I never thought about this before. I really don't have a favorite city in the US, only favorites outside the US.If I had to choose, I guess I would pick our nation's capital.
6/5/2012 10:37:25 AM
SF. Even with all the perils of living here I still like it. Radhar must be a hipster now with her Portland Irving
6/5/2012 10:45:59 AM
Philly is kind of cool.Charleston also gets a nod.
6/5/2012 10:49:04 AM
