I actually bought a guest bedroom set from one of these. It's some kind of fly-by-night wholesaler thing. The furniture is not super great quality, nor are the mattresses. They had rented a spot out at the air park, and it was just a desk in a warehouse full of wrapped furniture/mattresses. We paid, and they delivered our stuff the next day.The entire time, I had this wierd sketchy vibe like we were about to be kidnapped and murdered, but I think you will have less of a problem with that. I, too, have wondered this. Seems like it's either a bait-and-switch or a used mattress that's been recovered. Or in more rare situations, legit. http://www.wwaytv3.com/troubleshooters_roadside_mattress_set_advertisement/12/2008http://ask.metafilter.com/102025/Cheap-mattresses

I did this. Paid 100 bucks for a box spring and a mattress when i got to law school. I picked out which one I wanted from a public storage place in a bad part of Norfolk. They delivered the damn things at 1am. The delivery guy then proceeded to tell me he'd "deliver" anything I needed, with a wink and his thumb and forefinger at his mouth like a joint. It was a good mattress. I'm pretty sure it was stolen.
