all other threads were oldLooking to get some surface clavicle subdermal piercings done. I don't personally know anyone that has them and I haven't been pierced in years so I'm a little out of the loop. I know everyone always says blue flame but I'd like to see a few more portfolios before deciding on who to let poke me.I'm will to travel to durham or chapel hill to get this done so if anyone knows of another reputable establishment to get a subdermal........ do tell

there are not many places I know of that do dermals, but there is that place on hillsborough called "Progress Body Piercing" they exclusively do piercings so I would think they would do dermals. for some reason I can't pull up their website. They are pretty pricey (at least some of their jewelry is, but it is good quality) .http://progresspiercing.com but I haven't been there in awhile so maybe they shut down (it was never that busy looking)but I also hear Conspiracy Ink does them, http://conspiracyinktattoos.com/, however I have never been there and do not know anyone who has been, so I do not know the quuality of this place.[Edited on July 19, 2012 at 12:50 PM. 7/19/2012 1:12:54 PM
"Dogstar" is exactly the name of a place where I would want to get my piercing done. One vote for Dogstar.

7/19/2012 1:44:45 PM
well, you're the one into this piercing shit, so you run a higher risk of choking on a pierced dick that gets caught in your throat. Have fun.

She probably got a black-market piercing in the back-alleys of Amsterdam, got an infection, and died. You should call Interpol....but after you get your clavicle ring.btw, this looks like she has vampire bites on her chest:[Edited on July 19, 2012 at 2:02 PM. Reason : .]

I've got surface piercings on my arms, but I'm sorry I won't be able to help. If you were going to be in L.A. any time soon, I'd send you to my piercer out here, but I don't know of good studios in the triangle.
7/19/2012 3:23:09 PM
Considering Richard Ivey at Warlock's is pretty well-known among piercers and does a lot of scarification (not the same thing, but along the lines of the more unusual mods) I bet he does dermals.

7/19/2012 10:22:31 PM
an actual subdermal piercing
7/19/2012 10:25:41 PM
Microdermal anchors are so much better for clavicles than any dual-point surface piercing jewelry, even if you want two points like that picture that keeps being posted. There are a few ways to do those, but some techniques are easier than others; I wouldn't trust any of them to significant others. But on that note, is it legal in NC for piercers to use dermal punches?
7/19/2012 10:33:02 PM
^^ you crazyI've got a guiche and 99.61% of people think that's crazy, but for some reason subdermals creep me out.^You've just gotta know me and my woman. She's the smartest person in the world. About the dermal punches...idk if they're legal but I've talked to piercers who do them. Are they actually illegal in some places?[Edited on July 19, 2012 at 10:38 PM. Reason : ]
7/19/2012 10:34:48 PM
I don't understand why they would creep you out. It seems so much simpler and practical to me.^ Smart doesn't enter into it for me; it's purely an experience thing. Technique is a lot more important on dermal anchors in ensuring the long-term viability of the piercing. You want someone who has plenty of experience in sinking it to the proper depth and aligning it so it will lie perfectly perpendicular to the skin once the minor swelling goes down. Dermal punches vary a lot between states, I think. In some states they're classified solely as medical devices so piercers can't use them at all; in others, you have to be licensed to some degree to use them. In others, like California, there are no licenses, so you just better know and trust your piercer.[Edited on July 19, 2012 at 10:41 PM. Reason : ^]
7/19/2012 10:37:38 PM
idk why they do. I know that they're physically no worse than any other piercing, it's just half of a piercing after all. It's just weird that you can only see one side I guess.
7/19/2012 10:40:44 PM
Maybe it's that tissue grows up into the loop that's under the skin on most of the jewelry? Is that what freaks you out about them?
