Pretty rarely. Sometimes I Google the number while it's still ringing to make my decision.I'm more inclined to answer 919 numbers, but I still rarely do.

No.
8/23/2012 9:20:55 PM
Shit, I barely answer calls from numbers I do recognize.
8/23/2012 9:21:30 PM
8/23/2012 9:22:30 PM
I do; I'm typically not doing anything else anyway
8/23/2012 9:44:25 PM
nope
8/23/2012 9:48:59 PM
If I'm not particularly busy, then I'll answer.
8/23/2012 9:53:53 PM
Ain't nobody got time for that
8/23/2012 10:03:17 PM
i answer every call. don't cost me nothin so why not answer it?
8/23/2012 10:04:12 PM
if it's important, they'll leave a voicemailI don't answer calls at work either unless the name is someone I know...I still don't know what I'm talking about so if it's an attorney I might say something stupid
8/23/2012 10:05:19 PM
I hate talking on phones.
8/23/2012 10:05:54 PM
rare occasion for me as well.
8/23/2012 10:05:56 PM
i don't understand why people wouldn't answer the phonemaybe it's the whole golden rule thing. when I call somebody, i want them to answer it.
8/23/2012 10:06:53 PM
sometimes
8/23/2012 10:07:06 PM
don't have voicemail in Asia.
8/23/2012 10:09:43 PM
most of the time it's just a recruiter, so no.
8/23/2012 11:03:04 PM
depends if its an 800 number or the caller ID says something about a telemarketing companyor if its a local number i dont recognize
8/23/2012 11:07:09 PM
My rule of thumb is that if it is important they will leave a message.
8/23/2012 11:08:21 PM
I work in real estate. I answer 99% of the calls I get.
8/23/2012 11:15:12 PM
Hahahaha that must suck.
8/23/2012 11:20:19 PM
919, yes.Otherwise, no.
8/23/2012 11:20:41 PM
^^ a lot of unwanted phone conversations.
8/23/2012 11:23:07 PM
8/23/2012 11:26:01 PM
I be like yep.
8/23/2012 11:26:38 PM
8/23/2012 11:28:18 PM
I never answer 90% of my phone calls because they are from ex-wifes.
8/23/2012 11:29:53 PM
Yes, I almost always do. My cell is my biz phone, so any number could be a potential client.
8/23/2012 11:48:18 PM
I'll answer local area codes but otherwise no
8/24/2012 12:01:44 AM
Most of the time I do until i save the number to remember not to answer it if they call again. My old coworker got burned by a medical bill fuckup and kept unknowingly ignoring the medical company until he started getting voicemails from a collections agency and found his credit had tanked due to it. Been fighting with them over a year now and it aint worth it. Not to mention if someone needs me in an emergency like family.
8/24/2012 12:03:37 AM
Not usually. I mostly work under the "if it's important they'll leave a message" theory, dated though that may be.
8/24/2012 12:04:42 AM
My cell phone is used for work & I'm expected to be available. I usually answer an unknown number but if I'm in the middle of something, I may ignore it. I also don't return missed calls without a voicemail (business calls anyway). There are some friends I have a standing rule that we just call back missed calls & only leave voicemails when it's important.
8/24/2012 1:53:47 AM
not unless there is something going on where a call from a number I don't recognize would be expected.
8/24/2012 1:54:17 AM
Yes. My cell phone is also my home phone, and I grew up always answering the home phone without caller ID--you never know where/why/who might need to reach you. I think I'm also different in that I don't check it during a meal, conversation, watching TV with someone, etc... If it rings, I just reach over and cut the ringer off without looking for who it is.So basically I'm super polite for answering it and super polite for not answering it.
8/24/2012 2:47:45 AM
Yes, because I have a work cell phone which means I am expected to be on call 24/7.
8/24/2012 5:52:35 AM
8/24/2012 6:30:14 AM
it depends if I am expecting a call from someone
8/24/2012 7:15:35 AM
No, I never answer calls I don't recognize.
8/24/2012 7:34:22 AM
8/24/2012 7:36:24 AM
i hate when people leave a voicemail that's like "hey, it's pete. call me back"
