8/24/2012 9:40:29 AM
I thought guns were illegal and therefore didn't exist in NYC?
8/24/2012 9:40:40 AM
^^ You gotta post, then edit and put the quote in. That's why you will always be second.
8/24/2012 9:41:18 AM
are they certain someone didn't just drop 5 pennies?
8/24/2012 9:42:08 AM
Gun control is working
8/24/2012 9:42:43 AM
8/24/2012 9:46:13 AM
New York is the safest big city in the country. Gun control is very strict here but you can still buy a gun in any other state and bring it in. Stop being stupid.
8/24/2012 10:09:18 AM
So gun control in NYC works then, right?I mean, you can apply that argument in a lot of ways and it still doesn't justify NYC type gun control.[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 10:16 AM. Reason : .]
8/24/2012 10:15:36 AM
It's as faulty a premise as more guns will stop things like this. But really the violent crime reduction is thanks to many things, including much more efficient use of police force.[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 10:19 AM. Reason : X]
8/24/2012 10:17:42 AM
You can have a gun in new York city but it is difficult and takes some time. If you don't go through the proper avenues expect to spend a minimum of 3 years in jail. A shooting like this doesn't justify making it easier to get a gun here.
8/24/2012 10:21:34 AM
dentaldamn you're an idiot. gun control only works as a political tool to appease pussies. it makes them feel safe... criminals don't mind having illegal guns... fucking moron.for my entire opinion see my letter below.
8/24/2012 10:22:23 AM
ban all threads about guns
8/24/2012 10:24:28 AM
^ yesThe issue brings out the extremism stupid.Ban All or Arm AllEach equally ignorant.[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 10:27 AM. Reason : NYC obviously does something right with regards to crime in general]
8/24/2012 10:26:13 AM
well i hope michael bloomberg goes on every tv station and talks about how NYC gun control is working great now.

8/24/2012 10:30:18 AM
Thats fine if you think I'm an idiot. That isn't going to make gun laws change in new York. I heard gun shots outside my apartment last night. No idea what happened and it's not on the news. When only criminals have guns it's easier to round up all the idiots and put them in prison. But you don't have to visit if you don't like it.
8/24/2012 10:30:44 AM
8/24/2012 10:32:30 AM
I'm just messing with you... if you read what i posted below it you'll find i'm just against blanket bans on weapons. To be honest IMHO is no place for guns in NYC the entire purpose there outside of rental ranges would be to kill a human being... as there are no other safe places to shoot recreationally.[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 10:40 AM. Reason : .]
8/24/2012 10:33:59 AM
Also there is a huge police force here. Chances are if you pull a gun there will be a cop either on or off duty with a gun on them. There is no point to have civilians pulling guns to "protect" themselves. More people die that way. With that being said the cops in NYC have been rapping people at an alarming rate. So that sucks.
8/24/2012 10:37:46 AM
Haha, pointing to the NYPD as a model police force and saying that private citizens have nothing to worry about because the government will be their personal protection is funny and ironic. ^And tell that the thousands of rape, murder, and assault victims in NY each year.[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 10:39 AM. Reason : .]
8/24/2012 10:39:00 AM
I truly believe our generation and younger have a narcissism problem that prevents them from being able to do a selfless job like "protecting and serving"
8/24/2012 10:40:11 AM
^^ 8 million people live here.Of course people commit crimes here. If you are saying the nypd has tons of issues then I'm not going to argue against that.[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 10:45 AM. Reason : The entire state population of north Carolina live here. I'm not sure of your point. ]
8/24/2012 10:44:50 AM
Phew....I got scared for about 20 minutes bc Ken wasn't responding to my texts. 2 miles doesn't seem that far but it totally is in NYC. ]
8/24/2012 10:47:19 AM
The points are: 1) the government is not a personal protection force and 2) NYPD has way too many issues to cite as a good resource for personal protection.
8/24/2012 10:47:25 AM
wdprice talking completely out of his ass about NYCcolor me shocked[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 10:51 AM. Reason : ^^ my special lady works a block from there and texted me about it. a wild scene ]
8/24/2012 10:50:07 AM
What's out of my ass? I've said 2 things about NYC: there's a lot of violent crime (fact) and the NYPD isn't a model police force (fact).[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 10:53 AM. Reason : .]
8/24/2012 10:50:46 AM
NYC is the safest out of all of the large cities in the US
8/24/2012 10:57:54 AM
Per capita, NYC has less violent crime than Louisville, San Antonio, Charlotte, Tampa, Jacksonville, Dallas, San Francisco, Columbus, New Orleans, St. Paul, Albuquerque, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Boston, Oklahoma City, Houston, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Miami, Nashville, Kansas City, Philadelphia and Washington.
8/24/2012 11:00:01 AM
JESUS FUCK ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING THIS AGAIN?
8/24/2012 11:00:29 AM
Well, that's arguable depending on what metrics you look at and how you define "big city". And I said nothing about comparing statistics. I said a lot. I didn't say the most, more than 'x', etc. And there are still even smaller cities in strict gun control areas with even higher crimes rates. A lot of crime is a lot of crime. Sure, there are worse areas, I never refuted that.[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 11:02 AM. Reason : .]
8/24/2012 11:01:11 AM
If I had a gun, the first thing I would do is shoot wdprice in his stupid mouth.
8/24/2012 11:03:58 AM
nutrider appears! It's amazing. The person you would call a "gun nut" never resorts to statements such as shooting, maiming, raping, raping the first child of, etc. of someone he disagrees with. But you, you bring that out first![Edited on August 24, 2012 at 11:06 AM. Reason : .]
8/24/2012 11:05:14 AM
If I had a gun, I'd totally make sure it was legal and then sell it for the monies.
8/24/2012 11:05:47 AM
I live in new York city so I don't have to interact with idiots like wdprice3.
8/24/2012 11:06:22 AM
Haha, once again, all you have is personal insults and nothing more!
8/24/2012 11:07:20 AM
New York city is the safest big city in the country. There ya go.
8/24/2012 11:19:00 AM
It's not amazing, Bill. You're just a humorless twat.

As someone who grew up around NYC at its worst in the 80s and firsthand saw the amazing renaissance over time I'm thankful for the NYPD and the city's polices in general, faults and all. It's really amazing how nice and safe it is for a city its size in this country.[Edited on August 24, 2012 at 11:38 AM. Reason : I'll be damned, violent crime is high in SF. Where though?]
8/24/2012 11:35:08 AM
WOOOOOWSO the cops probably accidentally shot some of the victims!Imagine if there were gun-wielding citizens who tried to stop the commotion too! How much confusion there would be and how many MORE injuries and lives lost. It would have been an all out shooting-festival in the middle of New York!
8/24/2012 11:43:16 AM
Shittiest of situations for a cop. Chaos on a busy street like that is nearly impossible to avoid.
8/24/2012 11:46:40 AM
Oh and adding LA and DC to a list of cities "safer" than NYC is retarded
8/24/2012 11:47:28 AM
Story must be fake, guns aren't allowed in NYC.Oh and the cops supposedly accidentally shot people. Ban all cops
