I don't commute, but I do take my kid to school. I'm either talking to my retired mother because I need her to help me out later in the day or I'm calling my husband who hasn't left for work yet to see if he wants me to bring home breakfast or get something from the grocery store.

Lol the other morning as I was driving listening to the radio (WMMR Philly) the station had air time shoot ous. Call in leave a msg and they'll play it. One was a good luck msg and another was "To the cutie in the red jeep on Route 30... GET OFF THE PHONE YOU WHORE!!"I was on the same road and kept looking for a red jeep lol
10/8/2012 9:56:15 PM

10/8/2012 9:58:07 PM
Before my grandmother passed away, I would call her in the mornings to chat and check on her.
10/8/2012 9:58:35 PM
I used to work with a woman who would get out of her car at 630am talking away. I never did figure out who she was talking to, but that is the last thing I want to do at that time of the morning.
10/8/2012 10:02:50 PM
holy fuck - my commute in the morning is CHOCK FULL OF FUCKING WOMEN ON THE PHONE AND IN MY WAY. Who in fuck are these people talking to?? If somebody called me up at 7:30 in the morning and it wasn't a goddamn emergency - they'd be luck to avoid a cuban necktie.
10/8/2012 10:03:41 PM

10/8/2012 10:18:41 PM
I hate to admit that when I get mad and start yelling at someone driving like a retard, 90% of the time I come to realize it's a woman on a cell phone why y'all gotta fuck it up for us all?
10/8/2012 10:21:59 PM
Who are they talking to??Each other.
10/8/2012 10:29:34 PM
Up here, it's mostly guys yapping on their phones. The lady-idiots are just plain ol' stupid - no cell phone needed.
10/8/2012 10:29:58 PM

My coworker sits in her car every morning and finishes up a phone call right before 9. I have never figured out if it's the same person every day or if she rotates.
10/8/2012 11:32:23 PM
call her one day and find out
10/8/2012 11:35:43 PM

My fiance always talks to her mom on the way to work...around 6:30am. Old people get up early and that's the best time to talk to them. But she's got that 190% BLUETOOTH...so both hands are on the wheel.[Edited on October 9, 2012 at 12:46 PM. Reason : .]

10/9/2012 12:51:49 PM
I'm guessing people talking on cell phones during PM commutes are not a problem?

10/9/2012 8:36:14 PM
eh ehthat's too day early for me to have a conversation with anyone
10/9/2012 8:44:51 PM
THE FUCKING MORNING OR EVENING RUSH HOUR IS NOT THE TIME TO "CATCH UP" WITH SOMEONE ON THE PHONE.Seriously, fuck you people.
10/10/2012 11:12:49 AM
10/10/2012 11:27:23 AM
I start my commute at 6:30 and still see people yammering away on their cellphones. I too wonder just who they are talking to. If you call me at 6:30 someone better be dead.I'm guessing it's just people with separation anxiety. Like they leave their spouse on their commute but can't bear the burden of going 20-30 minutes without talking to someone.I know people that feel the need to be talking to someone every second of their commute. I hate getting calls from those people because you know you'll be stuck on the phone with them talking about nothing for a good hour. You're just their to keep them company. Bonus aggravation points if they stop at a drive-thru during the call. [Edited on October 10, 2012 at 12:02 PM. Reason : -]

I often times wish i had a screen that i could display messages to other drivers.like "THE LEFT LANE IS FOR PASSING ONLY, YOU IDIOT!!", or "NICE TURN SIGNAL, MORON!!", or "STOP TEXTING, ASSHOLE!!"
10/10/2012 1:09:55 PM
^ lol I would abuse the shit out of such a system
10/10/2012 1:14:37 PM
How much do cell phone jammers cost? I think it would be hilarious to keep one of those up and running in your vehicle. Nobody around you could ever stay on the phone.Of course the sudden disconnection would probably cause at least one person to get distracted and crash
10/10/2012 1:14:57 PM
I'm working in Charlotte today, these people are even worse at commuting. Guy beside me this morning had cellphone in left hand and coffee in right.
