Best was probably a Ford Sport Trac I had...only thing I had to ever replace on it was the alternator. Drove great, looked good and really was a comfortable truck end to end.

Worst: 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe. Not sure why the ex-wife and I bought it. Terrible mileage, rode like shit. Terrible power. The worst cruise control system ever designed, it would lose 4-5 mph before applying the gas, and would end up overshooting by 3-4 mph.

Worst driving is my 1999 f150. But, it's a truck and it was almost free to me. And comparing it to my brother in laws tundra ( the truck I borrowed before I got the f150) the one fussy drives like shit normally but only gets better as you load it down. The 06 tundra drives like a Camry until you start to put some weight in it and then it just become unsettling.
With the tundra I drove 2 couches and a desk down from Illinois on a trailer and it was frightening. The f150 towed my galaxie from Detroit and I can't say it didn't break a sweat but we never had a problem maintaining the speed limit and I didn't shit bricks around every turn in them mountains.
Worst mechanically car... I hate to say was the Subaru. Turbo died twice as did random sensors regularly and then the transmission was leaking incessantly and it still had an electrical gremlin I couldn't find. 9/24/2013 5:44:20 AM |

I haven't owned any bad cars really. Mechanically everything I have owned (thus far) has been mechanically bulletproof. I guess my worst car was my '85 Accord 2 door, mainly because it only had 85 hp lol.
Best one may be my Integra, as I highly doubt I'll ever own another vehicle that will give me over 165k (already had 135k when purchased) mostly trouble free miles given how much I beat on it. I feel like more modern cars aren't over-engineered as much anymore.
Most brilliantly engineered (and fun to drive) car was my S2000. Only fly in the ointment there was the convertible top that prematurely wears out every 3 years. Oh, and that gay ass CDV and mismatched flywheel/pressure plate. 9/24/2013 8:44:04 AM |

Worst - 87 Cutlass Supreme my mom gave me when I turned 16. She bought it new and had countless warranty claims in the first year that she owned the car. The whole car would have been replaced under the current lemon laws, but they weren't in effect back then. At about 30k miles the entire engine was replaced under warranty and my mom claimed it lost a ton of power with the new engine. All I know is that it was hella weak. Interior parts were junk and they broke all the time. Cruise control, AC, etc. was all broke by the time I inherited it even though it was only about 8 years old with ~50,000 miles. It handled terribly in the dry and felt dangerous in the wet. Skinny tires on the lightweight rear and a heavy engine up front made it love to spin out at speeds that would be perfectly safe in any other vehicle including all the pickups I've driven over the years. Ultimately, it was just some junk.

I don't quite know how to approach this question. I've had a whole shitload of cars, and most of them were exactly what you would expect.
I think I'd say the best was my first S2000 (AP1, Comptech exhaust, Comptech supercharger with aftercooler, MB Quart and JL Audio stereo, Fikse wheels). It was a sweet ride that I daily drove the piss out of for over 2 years and never did anything other than replace consumables and fluids. It did have that typical S2000 appetite for convertible tops, though. I sold it before replacing mine, but it had a couple of little tears in it.
I think the worst one was probably the turbo Miata. It was an absolute white-knuckle trip to drive, and I think you'd be hard pressed to have more performance for less money, at least in something that you could drive day-to-day. However, it was 15 years old, had nearly a quarter-million miles on it (minus all the drivetrain and all the hot-rod parts, which comprised a good chunk of car being new), and was hot-rodded like a mad dog and kinda Frankensteined together. It was usually little stuff (while I owned it, anyway...apparently the guy who bought it from me had some major shit break, but who knows what he did to provoke it), but it was something fucking constantly.
Dishonorable mention would be my Evo IX. Real-sedan practicality, a blast to drive, not too expensive, loads of headroom for mods if you want to do it, and one of the most fun cars I've driven. It's like a superman suit. However, the clutch shat itself at 20k miles with no track usage, and apparently that's pretty common. The interior rattled like a motherfucker by 30k miles. It developed a slight shudder in the front end that the dealer never really did completely eradicate before I sold it. It's also, for better and for worse, not what you'd think of a $35,000 car. It's really a $15,000 car with $20,000 of drivetrain, suspension, and brakes. It's a kickass ride, and it's also a real piece of shit for the price, haha.

I loved that little car for what it was...a quick fuel efficient go kart with a radio.
I was doing near 100 on backroads late for a wedding...went around a curve too fast and did a complete 360 on the thing in the middle of the road and rolled to a stop in the exact lane I had started going the same way. That car was amazing and fun to drive.
It did have its fair share of issues like sensors, belts and the fuel injection crapping out on me.
Apparently after I traded it the whole engine just went nuts and crapped out due to some thing in the muffler that toyota failed to test I read about.
Luckily I traded it in time...Probably the most fun car I have owned.
I also forgot the tank that i drove for a few weeks.
an 87 Mercedes Diesel. It had nearly 600k miles before it gave out and now sits under a barn because we have no idea what is wrong with it. 9/25/2013 1:47:44 AM |

I'm curious to know how an engine fails due to something that has nothing to do with combustion and is downstream?
Also an MR2 Spyder engine failing is just about the best thing that can happen to that car. Because then you can drop in a 2ZZ engine and have yourself a budget Elise

Most reliable: '91 Honda Accord. Still ran like a top when it was totaled with 193K on it. The transmission did have to be gone through in 2006 (but it was a 15 year old 170K automatic), but that's about it. Most enjoyable: '03 Mercury Marauder. Fairly quick, big, comfortable, lots of attitude. It just made me feel good to drive it. Overall favorite: '79 Chevy Malibu. There were a ton of things wrong with that car, but you never forget your first. (I still have it though it hasn't run in 12 years now )
Best overall: I'd have to bypass all of the above and say my '96 Lincoln Mark VIII. Insanely comfortable, looked good, had enough power, and very little went wrong with it. Killed before its time by an accident, unfortunately.
Worst: '82 Chevy Malibu. Extraordinarily slow (V6), burned oil, stupid early 80's smog equipment, shitty Dualjet carb, dieseled when I turned it off, too many odd squeaks and rattles to count, broken A/C, broken radio, no handling to speak of.

Worst: IS250 - at 53k miles, Lexus replaced 6 pistons. Despite routine maintenance and care, excessive carbon buildup resulted in the premature wear of the motor. This was covered by a TSB and warranty was extended to 9 years unlimited miles, but alas, this could happen to any IS250. The IS350 shouldn't have this issue because it is multi-port and direct injection whereas the IS250 is just DI. 10/8/2013 1:08:54 AM |

Worst: Either the 1990 Pontiac Sunbird or the 1994 Saturn SC2. I'm gonna go with the Saturn. The sunroof leaked and it ran hot more often than not.
Best: 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie crew cab. (Current vehicle)
Most fun: 2005 Jeep Wrangler X, lifted with 33" tires and lots of off-road upgrades.
Special shout out to the '94 Grand Cherokee for saving my ass when I slammed into a tractor at 55 mph and walked away with only a hairline fracture in my right leg.

Yeah my best would have to be the jku rubicon at this point. Part of it makes me sad though. I had a yj as my first car and it was awesome. 94 Sahara edition. The interior was awesome with the classic jeep like ruggedness and the canvas seats.
The interior on this one is awesome too it's just for the opposite reason it's strange having sat nave, power windows, power locks, DVD player 40gig mp3 flash memory with dual USB ports for flAsh drives. A 110 inverter built in. Yadda yadda yadda... The new soft tops fit better and don't make hardly any noise in comparison to my yj. The new hard top has the targa roof in it. Basically every thing is awesome... But sometimes I miss simple.
I also had an xj with 4" lift and 32s... This thing sits just like it did... Stock... And drives awesome with no bump steer extra rattles etc.

Although I've driven albeit not owned a 1985 Jeep CJ7 with 200000+ miles on it when I turned 16. It was solid as a rock mechanically but looked horrible on the outside. Then I had a Ford Focus for about a year til I bought the Wrangler.

Only vehicle I've ever owned as well. ~126k on it. Love it to this day. Probably needs a little TLC as of late, but I'm lazy and just need to get on it. 60th Anniversary...basically means emblems, floormats and nice wheels.
Love & hate relationship over the past few years. No major issues aside from a persistent "Small evap leak" code the past couple weeks that just won't seem to go away after replacing a gas cap (OEM, lol it was a cheap long shot fix), hose, and leak detection pump.
Sure, the mileage isn't great and the engine "growls" a little (I kinda like it), but I love the thing. I've never once gotten it stuck, granted I don't go offroad too often. WV snow storms on the drive back to KY every December to see family has never once been an issue.

3k miles so far. Truck has been in shop 3 times due to hesitation and loss of power. Waste gate opens and closes randomly and truck loses power and starts shaking.
