Every person on every car forum ever is sad Paul walker died.... Especially in a car accident.

I guess we can all now admit that as crappy as some of the fast and the furious movies were we somehow still liked all of them. 10 mile long runway, jumps in a street race so big any car would die,, mixing r35 parts with r33 and r34 skylines and last but not least "not double clutching when you should" they were still action packed movies that were fun to watch.

Anyway he will be missed, sadly I see a Paul walker anti street racing group in the near future....

Let's face it folks he loved this shit and knew the dangers of it.... And did it anyway... I'm wondering if he was ever asked how he would like to go if car crash wasn't on the list. Sure beats cancer...

I love the F&F movies and made my share of jokes about it but I gotta admit i was inexplicably sad about it. that said, this reminds me of how much we put celebs up on a pedestal. Paul walker dies and everyone flips their shit, scientist found an quasi cure for aids a disease that kills over a million people a year and no one mentions it. not saying it's not sad but most were more upset about the f&f franchise than his fatherless teenage daughter.

On a side note for as much shit as jeep got about their zjs and wjs, why hasn't Porsche gotten heat about this carrera gt ? first ryan dunn and his buddy now paul walker and his buddy, how many more celebrities and their sidekicks must die in fiery crashes?

most of the carrera gt's still for sale go for more than $300-400k, so it's not like they're the mustang of porsche cars

Someone with more understanding of physics/carbon fiber and accidents needs to chime in. If I took a normal car and hit a pole at 100 would the car explode like these porsche supercars? Roll cage?

Judging by that video looks like the seatbelts also suck, looks like the passenger went through the windshield.

Ryan Dunn was killed in a GT3.

The Carrera GT is indeed a very hard car to drive. It's death to sales ratio is unusually high, especially considering how few of them are actually being driven.

Anyway, people have sued Porsche for making the car "unreasonably hard to control" and have won on that basis. But that just makes me appreciate Porsche for actually making the car hardcore and sharp instead of nannied. While making that statement, I stay shy of speculating about the skills of the driver in this incident, however his judgement and common sense are obviously easier to speculate about considering the speeds likely involved on city streets.

The video posted by BlackJesus does not show the severity of that incident. The barricade was recently moved in that section and almost perpendicular to the track on the main straight (this is what I'd blame more so than the car) and pit out procedures weren't clearly followed by cars entering the track. Basically miscommunication between flagger/pit crew and Ferrari pulling out into what some considered a cool down lap, but not others.

Well, in the end, people that buy these cars have to know about the difficulty and issues associated with the car. They chose to drive them. In fact, they probably thought they were more 'manly' for driving such a beast of a car. Drivers fault. Not Porsche. I don't think this was advertised as a family car...
