Figured there would be a thread on this already since its been around for a month or so. Not a ton of cars, but a pretty good selection ranging from old rare cars to racing cars to a few newer ones. Finally went this weekend and got some decent pics.

I wanted to go when I was in town for the NCSU-UNC football game but didn't get a chance to. Wonder if I'll be back down before it ends... 1/5/2014 4:43:31 PM |

I went to this. The cars are gorgeous, but the exhibit could really use more curating. Basically its just a car museum, not a museum exhibit or anything about design. Its still worth the cost, but I was a little disappointed. 1/5/2014 6:27:33 PM |

Are there restrictions on photography? (i.e. no flash, no DSLR, etc.) or is it allowed except for tripods? 1/5/2014 9:05:42 PM |

Yeah no tripods or video cameras. Signs everywhere said "photography encouraged". I didn't use a flash, but did see a few people using them. I just had my wife's Nikon 1 and a few different lenses, but there a few DSLR's there. 1/5/2014 9:35:07 PM |

Hmm, good to know. That's another point in favor of going... 1/5/2014 11:31:14 PM |

I went back in November. It was fantastic.
FYI the exhibit is being extended an extra two weeks, to February 2nd (original ending was January 20th). Additionally, and even more interesting, is that during January 24-26th several of the cars in the exhibit will have their hoods up for more thorough viewing of the vehicles.

I'd heard that too. Thought about going back to see the open engines. 1/6/2014 8:43:15 AM |

I want to go then, but I might be out of town. 1/6/2014 8:44:56 AM |

GAH. That's when I wanted to go, but one of my prime reasons for going is for photos, and a car with the damn hood up makes for a shitty photo.
If I had already seen it "hoods down" that would be pretty cool. But if I'm driving 3 hours to see the exhibit, then I think I need to pick a different weekend. Stupid NFL playoffs. 1/6/2014 12:45:59 PM |
