What is CrazyCode?
CrazyCode is a set of tags that allows for extensive formatting and imaging in an ordinary post.
Bold:
Use: [b]some text[/b] - Appears: some text
Pretty self explanatory. Surround any text that you desire to appear bold with the [b] and [/b] tags.
Italics:
Use: [i]some text[/i] - Appears: some text
Pretty self explanatory. Surround any text that you desire to appear Italic with the [i] and [/i] tags.
Underline:
Use: [u]some text[/u] - Appears: some text
Pretty self explanatory. Surround any text that you desire to appear underlined with the [u] and [/u] tags.
Strike-Out:
Use: [s]some text[/s] - Appears: some text
Pretty self explanatory. Surround any text that you desire to appear Striked-Out with the [s] and [/s] tags.
Code:
Use: [code]some text[/code] - Appears:
some text
Surround any text that you desire to appear fixed-width with the [code] and [/code] tags. Good for displaying source code (or ASCII pics).
Link:
Use: [link]www.mysite.com[/link]
The [link] and [/link] tags provide you with the ability to insert a link into the post. The link will popup as a new window as someone clicks on it. The "http://" is optional, but will be inserted if left out.
User Link:
Use: [user]username[/user]
The [user] tag will provide a link to the user profile of the user enclosed in the tags. It will also correctly capitalize characters in the username.
Quote:
Use: [quote]some quoted text[/quote]
The [quote] and [/quote] tags allow you to quote someone in a specialized looking box that formats the quote. This looks neater than stringing the quotes out throughout the message.
Images:
Use: [image]http://www.myurl.com/directory/image.jpg[/image]
This allows a user to insert images into the post. The images appear inline with the message text.
General Recommendations:
Any tag that is opened must be closed for it to be processed. Suppose you start a message and add an [i] and intend for the whole message to be italic. You must provide a [/i] at the end of your message for the [i]'s to be processed.
