Leader of the Pack

submitted by OmarBadu on Friday, September 24 2004 at 6:01 PM

The Leader of the Pack competition honors two students for outstanding achievement in leadership, scholarship, and university and community service. The scholarship rewards one female and one male who have excelled in these areas. The pool of applicants has been narrowed down through a combined score including GPA, 3 essays, and an interview.

Please help to decide this year’s Leaders of the Pack by voting on this coming Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 27 & 28) for Finalists Jen Crutchfield and Robby Moorefield.

Just remember that the election only compromises one portion of the LOP award.

Election counts for approximately 15% of the final score.

Make sure you read up on your candidates before voting, as they will be the people in charge of the Homecoming Committee next year. Also, keep in mind, out of the 40 some applicants, these 6 were the one that were narrowed down to; there were a LOT of good campus leaders that applied and didn't make it this far. Again, choose wisely

Good call, Nat. As Perlith mentioned, the voting accont for 15% of the final score (the other 85% is based on an interview, 2 short essays, 1 long essay, and GPA).

Interview, Essays (short and long), the Student Body Vote, GPA, and a type of resume that's even verified...heavy emphasis placed on campus involvement, community involvement, service, scholarship, leadership, and overall presence in your world...

This is such an awesome program, and it's a great way to recognize each other for working so hard. It's always nice to see finalists and selectees that aren't even attached to student government; it seems that a lot of the time, SG's are the only ones that really know about the LOP award and apply for it--it's awsome when someone non-affiliated applies/wins and brings their slice of experience to the table...
