What a freakin warzone that game was. Bruins came out for blood tonight and pretty much bloodied up the whole team. The one thing we were able to do last year and not the two years before was stay relatively healthy. Cole looks like our first casualty and it's only the second game. Might be a long year if anyone else goes down.

what is the rationale for having some games in HD and others not? i mean they obviously have the equipment, and FSHD is just a blank channel unless the canes are playing anyway

because the equipment is shared between divisions, its not like its just FS Carolinas's equipment. the more important (where important = higher ratings/better contracts) markets will get the HD equipment more often than we will.

If I were Mo I'd juggle the lines, and hopefully with Pitkanen back then the D and goaltending will sort itself out relatively quickly. It sucks to have Cole out, but I'd like to see Conboy in games against some bruising teams like Boston/Philly and then have a Rat come up in the top 9 like Boychuck or Bowman.

whats up with all the penalties this year? Coming into tonight we led the league with 71 PIM, 12 more than the next team and we have 19 PIM thru 2 periods tonight. I know that fights play into it but that's still a lot of penalties and PP opportunities for opponents.

I don't remember us being this undisciplined last year, so is it just a product of getting the rust off from the off-season or the refs being a little rusty?

I don't know if I have ever seen a team cough up the puck as much in a game as the Lightning did tonight, including Mike Smith. Yet we didn't make them pay for it one single god damn time. One of the most frustrating games I've been to. No one on our team is in sync right now.

Fuck the shootout. But at the same time, thank God for the shootout.

I'll take the 2 points.
