I went and tried out Drake Landing Sporting Clays outside of Fuquay Varina today. It was a very nice course, but I wish I had taken a full choke with me. You really had to reach out on some of the holes. It is a very well manicured course compared to others I have been to.

I have recently come to realize how much more comfortable OWB is than IWB.
Still also amazed at what can be hidden under a T-Shirt as well.

^^pamlico county. not yet. been thinking about getting a crossbred IWB holster & belt. I probably won't be able to make it home for the next month, so I figured I'd order the holster and belt in a few weeks.

go ahead and order the holster (sometimes they get backed up... i got mine relatively quickly, but i know others who had to wait)

I love my crossbreed (I wear it everywhere I go, even if I'm not carrying on me)- at this point I don't even notice it anymore

cheers to legally obtaining your right to CC!

^^haha I'd need a big tshirt to conceal OWB (I'm tallish, so most of my shirts barley cover my belt by itself)

I had every intention of picking up a couple flats of shotgun shells tomorrow at Gander Mountain, but something came up and now I have to stop at two different military bases on the way there and back. I guess that eliminates my plans for getting ammo.

2001 dodge ram - fold down middle seat (becomes console) does not lock. looking for a good solution for a replacement opener button, or a replacement for the console altogether.

anyone seen something like this, or a good universal thing that'll fit in most consoles? i already have a separate locking safe i keep in the back, and it's a frustrating, inelegant solution to the problem. it also means i have to get out of the car to move things in and out of it.

any help much appreciated.

yeah - they claim that's the right console but it's not - the 1997-2001 are just big boxy seats. that was one of the first sites i found.

anyone see that 20/20 documentary last night?

It was nothing but a one-sided, incoherent, whining, piece of anti-gun liberal rhetoric. And they claimed it was anything but that.

agreed.....

on another note... I can't find 9mm target ANYWHERE... I've even been to other states. I was able to pick up some .40 and .38special at Bass Pro Shops in Hampton last weekend... went to Charlotte today, nada... only had .45 in stock.... this is really really starting to get old.

^^Are you for real? This is what I've been saying in these threads for the last couple of months; shooting some paper target has no carry over to the real world.

Yes, lets give people in a anit-gun state some quick training, and then throw them in a room where the gunman (police trainer) shoots one person and then aims their sights on the unsuspecting newb and lets see how they do.
Lets give them all cloths that don't fit so they can't even get to the gun.
Lets not try this experiment with people who actually carry every day.

What can protect you in a gun fight? Your cell phone.

I'm not saying it was perfect. It takes time practice with your holster, dressing around your gun, etc I understand all that. But it illustrated that a threat can present itself before you know whats going or you can find your burner. When you practice, you need to find ways to do it under stress. Also practice drawing from crazy positions: on your back, in the car, left handed. I also thought it did a good job of illustrating people running in front of your shot and having to take responsibility for where your bullets go.

How about making them all wear gloves as well? That makes it really easy to manipulate a firearm.

It also did a great job of presenting only one side of several scenarios to further push liberal anti-gun rhetoric. Furthermore, it failed to even consider cases where guns have and will save lives. In the end, the only message from the show was that no one can defend themselves with a firearm, thus no one should be allowed to own or at least carry them.

Also, as for the "gunshow loophole" the reporters failed yet again by not completely addressing the issue or presenting the facts behind the recent history of loophole legislation.

^^That is true, but then again being hit w/ sims in the hands hurts like whoa

I agree the whole show was propaganda and I FF'd the majority but I liked that part. Just train train train and be ready. It really will become second nature when shit hits the fan so the "oh shit loop" doesn't kick in.

There's a lot of situational knowledge that can be used to ones advantage in a gunfight, I'd say that's more important than being the best gunslinger in a gunfight.

the outdoor range project I started is coming along, have a 30 meter by 15 meter lane cleared out in a section of cut over timber, it will parallel the existing rifle ranges. Have the parts for all 3 benches sitting by the range, 2 of them have the frames complete. Need to finish getting all the vines, stumps and other stuff cleared out at ground level, and get the tire stacks in place to start piling up the berm next week. Current plan is for 1 lane with a target stand and a metal plate target, the outer 2 with overhead target cables.

when the chic got a hit on the officer at the end of the 20/20 show, it became a "grazing wound", then he unloaded on her lol, if you watch that show the officer shoots the teacher and then aim straight for the person with the gun, every time. If that bitch "grazed" you with a hp 9mm at 8ft, your gonna prolly go down. DIANE SAWYER CAN SUCK A FATTY! Oh yeah they should have arrested the guy buying the guns at the gunshow for purchasing a handgun without a permit, arrested the guy selling it, and arrested the atf agent for not doing his job stopping them.

I went to a school a couple of weekends ago that emphasized a lot of force on force training with airsoft guns. The emphasis of the class was that you don't need to square up to the target at the range and shoot till you're happy; you need to get some folks together and run some drills up close, get bruised by some airsoft pellets, get knocked on the ground, and most importantly, learn that you probably don't know what you're doing as well as you think you do.

Many gun people like to think that most situations will be solved with a gun from a (relatively) safe distance, this just isn't always the case.

Force on force scenarios with airsoft teaches a ton of things you won't learn on a square range. If you carry it's good to do something like that to work on tactics, even with some buddies if they're thinking about it as training and not just fucking around. You can even learn stuff playing paintball if you have the right attitude. With the price of ammo these days, airsoft is even more attractive than before. Most of my training now is airsoft and IDPA type matches.

One of the other advantages of doing force on force scenarios is you recognize when things like the 20/20 stuff are planned and rehearsed and scripted versus having unknowns and an improv component that's more real.

Leather doesn't wear the finish, or not nearly as fast.
Some say it is more comfortable, even though it is thicker.
