Fuck yeah I love nothing more than beating Florida and Buffalo, and I got both in three days. This was like a vacation week where the disaster of the season was forgotten for me.

Dominic Moore, who is utter shit and has all of 17 points this year, just went to Montreal for a 2nd round pick. Hopefully we can haul in something good tomorrow for Cullen.

I mentioned to Tripp during the bald headed men group picture that I enjoyed his body of work in Richmond, he appeared pleased.

I have no idea, but I'm about sick of these backup announcers. Tonight's was not even the same one from the Blackhawks snow game. Where the fuck is the normal guy?

I wonder if the Canes in game announcer at the arena is anything like the Panthers?

He had a drug problem and was fired.

Heroin wins.

Cullen trade will be announced in the next few hours. Chip says that will be the only trade from us until after the Olympic break.

Good deal. Ottawa gets a heck of a threat with some playoff Cup seasoning.

Carolina gets a 2nd and a fill-in for page 45:

the last person is complaining that cullen bailed on the canes to get with a better team, which is too much facepalm to dissect here

i don't even know if he has a NTC but furthermore that kid seems to think that he does, or that all players do, and that it is a bitch move to be traded

Here's an idea... and shoot me if it seems stupid. I can understand.

What if the Canes are making a push for the post season and not worried about a top 3 pick due to standings because they might trade the 1st and a 2nd to the teams that holds the 1-3 spots??

The players and coaches really don't give a shit about draft position. They want to win, and that is what they are going to try to do every game no matter what. As for the second part, I think the price to pay to get one of the top 3 picks would be absolutely astronomical.

Take a look at the 1999 draft for example. Vancouver traded Bryan McCabe and a 1st rounder to get the 2nd overall pick so they could take both Sedins. Now we all consider McCabe to be shit now, but at that time he was a very highly regarded defenseman. Combine that with the fact that 10 years later in a salary cap era draft picks are valued much more than in the past, and the fact that there are 3 clear stud prospects in this draft, and it would be difficult to wrangle one of those picks away from someone.

That's why I trust you Vulcan. I didn't consider that.

However, the Sedins are a bit different than Sequin/Hall/Fowler right?

I agree with you, but are these guys Sedins or Stamkos'?

They certainly have that potential. Of course any of them could turn out to be the next Patrick Stefan. But, that's the risk you take I guess.

I really hope we end up seeing Cullen back in the offseason to go along with Sutter and Staal, but this had to happen. Picard gives us a young puck moving defenseman. If he fits great, if not we just don't have to resign him. It works out very well. It also gives us yet another 2nd round pick. I'm hoping that with Whitney traded we'll get a 1st rounder/2nd rounder or a top prospect/2nd rounder. I also think we'll see Corvo dealt for a 2nd rounder. I really like all 3 of these players, but we need youth and we need to restock our system.

Pretty good return for Cullen. Reading up on what various sens fans have posted across the internets they aren't sad to see Picard go so i'm curious what JR sees in him. Of course former NHL emergency backup goaltender Tripp Tracy has mentioned once or twice that defensemen do take a long time to develop and he certainly knows what he's talking about.

Also lol facebook. I don't think I can comment on the Canes stuff but I really want to go on there and post:

They were ECSTATIC to see Corvo go, so that should tell you something about internet Sens fans.

For all of you planning to go to Helsinki...

I went this summer with my gf to the mother country using generationfly from lufthansa.

https://generationfly.com/

It's for anyone w/ a valid student account. They told you to travel w/ your student ID but I never got carded. We flew from CLT to Munich to HEL for ~1000 each. They are sorta flexible on what time you wanna take the flights so we had a layover of 11 hours in Munich so that we could check out the city. I really want to go but we'll see. Hostels are definitely the way to go unless you know someone or wanna chill with my family lol. Bus and train ftw while you're there.

If you're serious about going and plan to hang out in Finland some shoot me a PM and I'll let ya know what to check out

i'm not too concerned

whitney may just be posturing like some have said so some other teams get involved

but whatever happens, it seems like Whitney is the best available winger, and the value for rentals has already been set pretty high. i think we are going to get a great return for him.

that being said, it would be nice to get a 1st and Teubert from LA

haha...of all people to get butt-hurt about. I don't understand why people get attached to players like Cole and LaRose moreso than the, i dunno, SKILLED players. Or the ones like Nonstopolous (now re-named Prius) who do the same thing as Chad for 1/3 the $$
