Great Donald Glover showcase, and Capricious Caroline was hilarious. There was definitely an emotional heft to this episode that sitcoms rarely achieve, though the Pierce storyline didn't really work for me.

My favorite part was the subtly delivered reflection of our own coming-of-age as illustrated by the interactions of jeff and brita with troy.

Jeff and Brita have often been portrayed as the father/mother roles of the group. In this week's episode the first interaction of that caliber was when troy worked Pierce for the keg deposit and culminating with Troy saying, "I have spent the past X years thinking you guys knew more than me and now I realize that you are just as dumb as I am." A realization reached regarding our own parents once we entered into adulthood.

Didn't really care for the episode, definitely my least favorite of the season so far (possibly even the first season but can't really remember that far back)...although I did chuckle at the Lost season 1 dvd and the final scene with Troy and Abed.

Not the strongest episode of Community, but pretty solid compared to other shows' Christmas specials.

I like how Community episodes take place on the same day they air; Troy specifically mentioned that it was December 9th and it was the last episode day of classes before the winter break.

Not a great episode, but there were a few moments. I liked that the reflection of the group in the claymation TV was the real humans.

i didn't know star-burns had an animation background

also didn't know he was the voice of drinky crow... i do love drinky crow, and though the show got better (i actually didn't like it at all at first) over time, i don't think it was as good as the print version of maakies

what are you supposed to say other than album to describe an artist's latest release? i guess the word is dying since kids download individual songs on iTunes

also i picture annie naked in every scene...gets difficult to concentrate on the dialogue

So The Office is still good, and Community is past it's prime? Give me a break.

I think any episode with a heavy pierce focus is pretty painful sometimes, The one were he an jeff double date in the first season and the one with his step daughter was kinda rough too.

The Office has been around for a while.. Community hasn't.

Anyone who doesn't think The Office isn't past its prime is out of their mind. But I don't expect the same type of comedy from the early seasons of the Office--it'll never be there again. That being said, this season of The Office has been a lot better than the last couple, but that really isn't saying much. Nonetheless, I've watched The Office since 2005 so I guess I'm a little more invested into that show and its characters.

For the most part, the last 1.5 seasons of Community have been light years ahead of The Office, comically anyway. I'm much more dissapointed in a bad episode of Community than a bad episode of The Office. It's alarming to me that it's 1.5 seasons old and is already running into skids.. like it doesn't know what to do with itself. Really, a Chang/Shirley baby? Already? Does Community even have any serious arcs? So yeah, I might just stop watching if it continues to be so dumb.

Look man, if they do a string of really weak episodes then you can start bitching about how it's jumped the shark, until then what you're saying is an entirely premature assumption. I'm going to give this show the benefit of the doubt because of all the goodwill it's built up over the awesome 1.5 seasons it's already done.

I don't think it's "jumped the shark" but I do think the plots are getting a little zany. Claymation.. Betty White.. a whole story about a pen. I hope I'm wrong.

It's funny that you pick out 3 strong episodes as examples of the show being too "zany", whatever the fuck that means.

Yeah, the pen episode was great. Also, there's nothing zany about bottle episodes...my favorite episode of All in the Family takes place entirely in a subway car.

If anything was too zany, it was the chase inside the giant tent fort...and that episode ruled, too.

Just about every episode of Community is a bottle episode.

zany: ludicrously or incongruously comical; bizarre, clownish

I'm sorry that someone is challenging your opinions and tastes. Maybe everyone doesn't have to think like me OR you.

Hi i like community my favorite episode is the one with the guns lol omg annies boobs are so hot and
britta is hot too. Abed and troy are so silly it makes me lol. Do they go to class anymore? Who cares! Claymation! Yaaaay. Lol remember when they strip searched each other becuz of a missing pen? Thats called a BOTTLE EPISODE and its perfectly acceptable because my favorite episode of alf was a bottle episode (see what i did there? I dropped some retro shit in your bourgeoisie faces). Anyway, i look forward to the chang baby itll be like a crazy zany blasian toddler lol imagine if jeff sends a text to he/she/it! Lolll situational comedy indeed!
