the problem appears to have been the mag safety spring - it got out of place. seems to be working now.

If you safely can, just remove the mag safety assembly altogether. It's a worthless feature, and doing so will probably improve the trigger a bit.

does any one have kleenbore pistol cleaning kits? I have one for my 380 (it's the 9mm kit) and I believe I'm missing a piece - there's no way to attach the brass brush to the rod... can anyone show me the proper adapter so I can contact kleenbore about it?

umm... The kleenbore kit that I used to have was like all the other kits I've used. The brush just screws into the rod. So...either you're having a bad day, you set an all new "duh" record for tdub, or you have a different one than I had. Got a model number on the kit so we can look at it?

Yeah, the 24 is a GREAT choice man.

I love the 6" barrel Glocks so much. If you compare the velocities that higher powered .40 loads will reach out of your G24 with what 10mm loads will do out of something like a G29, I think you'll find that they're going to be very close. That gun is going to put rounds downrange like no other my son! Well, maybe not, but you get the idea.

Excellent accuracy, no increase in recoil, great capacity and a solid increase in how hard a given round will hit over most standard length barrels.

I love the G17L, which is the G24's 9mm counterpart. That's the one other 9mm Glock I really want badly.

dave - LOL. the brush doesn't have a threaded adapter. it's just the bristles and twisted metal

in other words, I can't screw the brush into the rod because there is no threaded piece.

model # PK-210

^^^^ wd, that's what I figured. You didn't seem dumb enough to miss something like that. I agree with the others, yours definitely missed a step. Take it back or pick up a new brush somewhere if it's been too long (both Lawmen's & Eagle One carried a good selection back when I lived in Raleigh).

ok, i wasn't sure if it was supposed to be something that was already connected or just an adapter I was supposed to connect. I got it from davie's but I'm in contact with kleenbore about getting things straightened out.

thanks

I have a mean little 357 sig you can use, assuming the time lets me show up. Keltec P11 with the 357 kit.

I've got a .357 sig barrel for my G23(compact) and G27(subcompact).
You can use both of them.

What time?

P11 in 357sig?

I've never been a fan of the 357 Sig, but a 357 kit for a P11 would be neat just for shits and giggles.

It might be fine if it had a stout recoil spring.

[Edited on July 9, 2009 at 1:07 PM. Reason : I wonder what comes in the kit.]

The p11 was and is a 9mm.
Keltec used to sell both a P40, with stronger spring/bigger slide, and a kit slide to add to your existing 9mm.
I have a P11, with 4 factory 9mm mags, and also a P40 slide, with 357 sig and 40 SW barrels, and 4 factory mags for that slide setup. I tend to carry it in 40 or 357 sig, and use the 9mm slide for cheap range use.
They do NOT sell that P40 slide any more, as folks complained that it was too hard to control, being a 21-22 oz loaded weight gun. that is less than 1.5 pounds with a 9 round magazine plus 1 in the pipe, in 40. The size is comparable to stuff like the subcompact XD's, but it is MUCH smaller in the grip area, and about 1/2 pound lighter.
Let me know a good time to be at the range to let you play with it. I am spending Saturday am at the 'free' range out in nash county, then dragging my younger sisters around pistol shopping, then dragging them to the open carry dinner. I would be glad to drop by pdhsc and get some range time there as well. I need to send my P40 back to keltec sometime for some service work, as its starting to get worn in.

Private, family owned, also where I store the rest of my stuff and where I reload. Currently only the 125 yard line is open, the 250 needs a new berm, and the 30 meter pistol range needs a dump truck of screenings to fill the tire wall berm. We have both metal plate targets and stands for paper targets at the walk up area of the 125 yard range for pistol shooters. Also have a plate that is out by the 125 yard berm for those who think they are hot with their pistol.

^^ the pan is to get the 30 meter range done sometime this summer, as a 3 position with overhead target lines, manual pull in/out. I have been lazy and not gotten any work done on it, once done I plan to try and do a range day out there, maybe this fall once its cooler.

there is a thread in the garage about the car.
tire rubbed a hole in a feed line for my air ride, then crap happened.
So, a little of A, a little of B.
I'll ride in the bed if need be. I live 1/4 mile from the intersection of tryon and gorman.

Congratulations to abbradsh for winning the $40 gift certificate for Gunner's Alley

Next month we will be having a gift card to either PDHSC, Davi's, or a Beltman Belt as a door price, if the attendance is over 15.
