Ayo Krallum, you need to get a hold of Idraulic Hell's "FAXIT" album. Obscure Italian drone at its finest, son. I've listened to this album a hundred times and it still slays me every time.

one of the tracks from our new EP

http://youtu.be/UZBjI6W7DPo

I'm vocals and bass, but the bass on this album was recorded by Tod Ellis (now bassist for Nile) when he was still in the band

Thanks man. When/where's the show? They sound solid, we may be able to do it but it depends on the date. We've been doing a side project for the last few months and are a bit rusty on our actual shit so we'd need a little time to brush up.

Here's the EP if you want to send it their way. The one above is the most straight-forward death metal song, the rest are a bit more "blackened"

Man, I hate metal with growly, stupid sounding vocals. There's no telling how many bands I'm turned off of only because of the vocals.

...so with that in mind, suggest some new/new to me bands that I might like. My favorites are Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest. I don't care all that much for Slayer...Anthrax is OK; nothing to write home about (thought maybe I should listen to them a little more just to make sure I'm not missing anything?)

sorry, not to keep touting our EP but if any of you are on what.cd and want to snatch it, here's the link

PM me for the link

grab it if you're a fan of death metal or if you're good on ratio and want to help a brotha out (upgraded my utorrent a while back as per what's direction and lost ALL my seeds. can't get them re-seeded. so my ratio plummeted and it's now .02 from being in the clear again...so close)

this was such a ragtag bullshit lie of a show but man it was a good time

we got hit up last minute to headline a show at the berkely so some relatively unknown bands could expect someone to show up

turns out it was a bunch of kid bands in high school but they were solid as shit and definitely enthusiastic

found out right before the show that our bass player at the time couldn't make it so I had one practice to shake the rust off on a four-string, not to mention my first time playing and singing at the same time on any instrument

now that shit is kindof winding down due to me re-dedicating to a professional career I find myself missing the random little shows like this more than the big packed ones

I can't comprehend how you can like those bands but not like Anthrax. But to each his own...

I'm probably going to catch shit for recommending some of these because I get the impression that it's not "cool" to like them, but try these out:

Anterior
ASG
Baroness
Bison BC
Black Tide
Control Denied
Down
The Human Abstract
Protest the Hero
Trivium

7. Vinnie Paul - Pantera, Damageplan (Throes of Rejection)
8. Gene Hoglan - Death, Strapping Young Lad (Symbolic)
9. Lars Ulrich - Metallica (Dyer's Eve)"

Awful... If you think Mike Portnoy is a good drummer then you are retarded. There is a huge difference between being a good drummer and playing in a good / popular band which is what these lists always are.

Actually I have to give them props for putting bobby jarzombek on this shit AND at #10

Unfortunately, I can't listen to live recordings that don't have better sound quality than that. Everything just sounds so muddy. I know that means I've probably missed out on some great performances, but I just can't do it.

I will lay it out by album, and then let you go from there. You are probably in your 30s and are having trouble finding new bands because at some point you will think anything new sounds like shit. It is not your fault, only inevitable. Here are a list of albums I would recommend.
Tool - any of their albums
Opeth - Heritage and Damnation (if you go for any others, be ready for his sick growl)
Stone Sour - Stone Sour and Come Whatever May, haven't heard the new one yet
Marilyn Manson - Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, The Golden Age of Grotesque,
Danzig - Danzig, Danzig 2, Danzig 3, Danzig 4
White Zombie - Devil Music, Astrocreep
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Sabotage,
Corrosion of Conformity - Deliverance, Blind, Wiseblood, Corrosion of Conformity
Disturbed - Ten Thousand Fists, Sickness, Believe
Down - NOLA
Mastodon - The Hunter, Blood Mountain
Megadeth - All of them except Risk
Ministry- Most of their shit is good if you don't mind repetition
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty much any
Ozzy - anything before his reality show
A Perfect Circle - anything except their stupid hippie shit (Emotive)
Primus - any
Puscifer- Not heavy, but Conditions of My Parole is a sick album
Rollins Band - Weight
Sixx AM - Heroin Diaries
Type O Negative - October Rust, Bloody Kisses, Life Is Killing Me, World Coming Down, Dead Again,
