lol

aimorris trolling pretty, pretty hard.

Ribs told me that he heard, from an inside source on twitter, that Hazard is going to Spurs. Sealed deal.

Hmm, apparently the big rumor going on right now is that Spurs are close to coaxing Pele, Zidane, AND Michael Jordan out of retirement.

Chelsea midfield looks legit as hell if they land Hulk too - Ramires, Hazard, Marin, Hulk, Mata

I wonder what'll happen to Fat Frank.

I know they're about to sign Kagawa but United's transfers in the last 5 years have been pretty pathetic for a club of their stature. Gotta give props to Fergie to hang on this long at the top without big money transfers. I mean, Young and Valencia are good but you'd have to say their last "world class" signings were Evra/Vidic in 2006.

Even if Hernandez doesn't do anything for the rest of his career, I think that will go down as a fantastic signing last year.

I thought they signed him before the 2010 WC.

But whatever, my point isn't that they're signing sucky players. It's that they're really not signing ballers anymore like Ronaldo, Rooney, Vidic, etc. They're just filling in pieces with 2 or 3 capable players. And Bebe.

Evra and Vidic were bought before they were world class. It's a miracle what Fergie has done with whats at hand.

True. I just don't see Ashley Young eventually becoming one of the world's best at his position. Same for Valencia, Hernandez, Jones, Kagawa and anybody else they've signed in the last 5 years.

You just gotta think eventually it'll catch up to them, either when Fergie retires and they can't count on his magic anymore or their stars like Rooney and Vidic are washed up.

Ronaldo was also bought before he was world class. he wouldve been just another flamboyant winger had it not been for Ferguson and united

It seems pretty set that when saf retires the job will be mourinhos. and if not him then someone else just as good. I don't think united are just gonna disappear like that..just look how far they are ahead of the rest of the league this season (save city).

Besides..united have never been a team full ofbworld class players. Ferguson always has utility players and squad rotation players.

Yeah, I know. But do you honestly think any of United's recent transfers will end up being world class players? Be realistic. Save this post when Phil Jones is moving to Barcelona for 40 mil and make fun of me all you want but I'll stand by it now.

And of course they're not going to "disappear." I just think they'll find themselves alongside Europe's elite less and less.

I already played a FIFA match with hazard in the line-up. Here's what I went with

-------------Cech---------
Bosingwa-Ivanovic-Cahill-Cole
Ramires---Meireles---Mata-
Hazard---Torres---Sturridge-

So many goals, but probably would give up a shit ton, too.

Yeah, that's pretty much my point. United's replacing players with decent to above-average players. Elite clubs are buying the best available.

Glazers will eventually fuck the club if nothing changes.

[Edited on May 29, 2012 at 2:04 PM. Reason : decent players with low ceilings, that is]

Whoever is playing that position for Barcelona or Real Madrid during any game + Hulk, easily. Jesus Navas, David Silva when he plays that position, and Robben.

Baines to United would be a damn good signing (I'm not telling you where I saw the rumor though)

not sold on Rodgers as Liverpool manager. Feels like people giving him too much credit for one good season with a promoted team. Steve Coppell finished 8th in his first PL season with Reading and now he's coaching Crawley Town FC, which sounds made up

I'm not completely sold on it of course but I am very, very optimistic by the hire. Think he has a system and philosophy that is perfect for Liverpool. Get some quality players that can pass and move and I think we can definitely challenge for the top 4 next year.

Hopefully...

aease teach me then...what other right wingers are better than him?

ill give robben is better offensively but he has nothing on valencias defensive ability. I've seen one winger named and some forward/strikers named who are not wingers

and Jesus navas is not better than him..

[Edited on May 31, 2012 at 10:17 AM. Reason : there's a reason he was voted mufcs player of the season]

Okay you convinced me. Valencia is world class. He could walk into any team's starting XI right now. United has had to turn down multiple bids from Europe's elite for months. He's probably valued at 80 mil.

I'd play a handful of out of position CMs or LMs or RBs or even forwards like you want to argue about over Valencia. My initial post wasn't even hating on him because I think he's really good. I guess I just didn't realize United fans were that convinced he was one of the world's best, my bad.

Yeah there's actually two reasons. You can't give it to Rooney every year and Scholes only played half a season.

And I'm not arguing about playing people it of position cause then you're still naming people who aren't wingers. hw plays the definition of a winger perfectly. he's fast, beats ppl offbthe dribble, can finish, tracks back and plays defense. I wouldvwager a bet almost every person you would name does not play that position better than him.

I would also bet everyone you name is because you fancy how offensively gifted they are. I'm not gonna sit here and argue valencia is.the greatest offensive threat ever cause he's not...but I can't think of many people in the game right now who are a better right winger than him.

and I have no idea about that city game...I wouldve never played park but saf has his reasons. its hard to question someone who has won as much as.he has

some of you guys should probably go back and look up what a winger is vs a forward

And I'd tell you to go back and look up what a winger is vs. a right midfielder.

We can play semantics about positions all day long. But the bottom line is that I'd play a number of players on the right side of my formation before Valencia. If you disagree with that, fine. But don't tell me players like Hulk/Alexis aren't right wingers because they most definitely are.

Valencia being more of a two way player (which nobody is arguing against) doesn't compare to what players like Robben bring offensively to a team.

One in the same. a more offensive minded team is going to call their wide men wingers and a more defensive minded team will call him a right mf.

their roles are exactly the same as try are to attack and provide crosses as well as get back and help defensively

hulk and sanchez are forwards. you cannot sit here and tell me they consistently track back and help in defense

Yep, because when I think of Robben and Ronaldo, I think of them tracking back defensively.

I'm not willing to say Valencia is even a top 5 winger/midfielder or whatever you want to call him in the world. But, I will say for that amazing stretch this season he was playing the position better than ANYONE.

If all you consider as a winger, is a 2 way wide player, who marks wide players, and crosses. Then Dani Alves is the best, period. He allows Barcelona to play 3 CMFs and provides all the width when Pedro isn't in.

I totally have no clue what's going on in here.

It seems that the only argument JT is making is that Hulk & Sanchez are not Antonio Valencia, but Robben is Antonio Valencia. And wingers aren't really wingers. They're just wingers.

Yeah, his definition of winger is so small that Valencia must be in the Top 3 because apparently he and Robben are the only wingers in the world.
