Finally went. Chicken was solid but not spectacular. Collards & mac/cheese were outstanding. Biscuits were OK.

Veggie plate FTW next time. Can't wait to try Chuck's

i wouldn't really compare chuck's to beasley's unless you have really strong feelings for beef over chicken. both are yummy

they had a meatloaf dish at Beasley's last night that was outstanding.

i had the chicken, but tried a few bites of the meatloaf and it was insanely good.

Also I can't believe people don't like the banana pudding. Granted the cake thing is fair (I mentioned it earlier) but I really really liked it.

if their banana pudding really is some sort of bread/banana pudding, I'll probably just order 3 of those.

It's probably best to say banana pudding with vanilla cake and a marshmellow topper--not banana bread-pudding (that would be sweet, I love bread pudding).

I don't think any of the menu items are really permanent other than the chicken and the mac & cheese, but I think the pudding will be on the menu for a while

How long will the meatloaf be available? I had the chance to get it but was craving the waffles. I also went and got a drink at Fox. I can't be affording that place. I got the Tuxedo #2 and felt pretty f'ing classy.

They added El Meatball when they changed the menu, but the one time I tried it I wasn't impressed. When you center a dish on one giant meatball you're going to have problems cooking it consistently. My biggest complaint was that it was well done on the outside, but almost raw in the center.

I just assumed that the meatloaf was an improved replacement as it seems to use the same sauce.

Do you think they'll do something other than tilapia at any point? That sounds yummy but I'm not much of a fan of tilapia.

I tried the sausage, gravy, and biscuits off the brunch menu today. Good stuff. I'll probably go next Sunday morning to try the quiche.

Considering how dirt cheap the ingredients for waffles are I'd be curious to know why they raised the price. Does it come with more chicken now or something?

THESE DELICIOUS WAFFLES ARE OVERPRICED

HOW CAN THEY CHARGE MORE THAN THE TOTAL COST OF THE INGREDIENTS?

WHAT IS THIS, A BUSINESS?

With waffles you can now choose white or dark meat instead of getting just dark.

Also, Chuck's has an awesome chicken sammich on the menu now.

So, after months of reading this thread I finally got to try this restaurant last weekend.

Holy god, this chicken was simply amazing. Just perfect. I had the fried chicken and waffle. The chicken was just so dense and succulent, my mouth is just watering thinking back on it. The waffle was wonderful also. The drizzled honey brought all the flavors together, making it just so superb.

This place has ruined friend chicken for me, it was just so perfect-- no one can ever top it.
