If you want to keep doubling down on this retarded false equivalency, go on ahead, but do remember that a good chunk of supporters defending Trump have claimed that what he said was over ten years ago, so it shouldn't matter anymore. If that's the case, what Bill did happened 25+ years ago, so there!

What thought process? Bill did shitty things, settled out of court, and isn't running for president right now. If he was, that would be a valid point of comparison between both BILL and TRUMP. Would you like to blame Chelsea while you're at it? What about Bill's dead mother?

Trump said shitty things, and allegedly did even worse, and now he's going to lose to Hillary because the public overwhelmingly condemn his actions. Hillary didn't sexually assault anyone or talk about doing it and getting away with it. She may have serious character flaws, but they don't balance out equally with Trump's. Seriously, look up what a false equivalency is. And fwiw, nobody has really said much about Milania standing by her man, so please link me to articles saying she's as bad as Hillary is. Thnx.

You're still playing the equivalency game and I'm just trying to keep up. Why isn't Melania under more of an attack right now? She went on CNN and made excuses for him and she would be the First Lady if Trump gets elected. Why would it be so bad for Bill to be the first husband, but not bad for Melania to be the First Lady? Plz I have a match.

I think I've explained my point well enough but here we go again.

Hillary is an apologist, which is itself vile. And according to her, Bill would be working in the executive office advising on policy decisions.

No, it isn't exactly the same, but either way, we're voting a molestor into the executive branch, directly or by proxy.

I would argue that Clinton's relative silence on Trump's transgressions are making your (^) point for you.

Her campaign has hit him but very rarely directly from her.

The media mostly ignored Trump's accusations of sexual assault until this tape came out. One of his ex-wives accuses him of marital rape in her book, so it wasn't exactly a secret. As for Clinton's statements about her husband's accusers she's defending her spouse, which most people would expect. To expect her to take a neutral stance when her husband has been accused of a crime is just absurd.

Not okay for Hillary to defend her husband

Okay for Meliana to defend hers.

You're dumb as a brick if that's all you're getting out of my posts. Melania is wrong as well. And I'm right wing now? lmao

^^
That's a poor excuse. Her spouse sexually assaulted people. It's not just infidelity at that point.

I don't think it is, I think that's exactly what people expect. People expect the wife to stick up for her husband when he's accused of a crime. That he (allegedly) sexually assaulted women doesn't change that.

It's one thing to say "my husband didn't do it." It's another thing to go into character assassination of the accusers.

What specific character assassination has she done? Genuinely curious. I remember she called one accuser "crazy", but I haven't seen any specifics beyond that.

One important lesson I've learned from Trump is that sexually assault/harassment doesn't count if they're ugly.

I've learned that nominating an unintelligent fascist with no political experience doesn't go as badly as you'd think. Just don't sexually assault a bunch of women and then brag about it on video.

^ I really don't see much wrong with that strategy. The 3 biggest potential problems I see are:

1) The DNC influencing the RNC candidate
2) The DNC using the media to do this
3) The possibility that this strategy backfires and the worst of the worst becomes president

But to those points I would reply:

1) The article seems to just assume that Trump is a result of the DNC's influence. Is this really true? Tons and tons of articles have been written about why Trump won the nomination, and I've seen nothing that shows any solid evidence that were the DNC not pushing that agenda he wouldn't have won
2) I have absolutely zero recollection of the media treating either Trump or Carson as anything other than ridiculous. Cruz maybe, but only by comparison
3) It's a high risk/high reward game. But if that happened and a majority of the country ends up voting for Trump can we really conclude that he wouldn't have been the nominee in the first place in a vacuum?

There's another problem that the author touches on: elevating extremist canidates also elevates their positions. The alt-right doesn't disappear when Clinton is elected.

I will concede that as being a shitty product of this, and in fact I have told many people both times the polls have been close that even if Clinton wins, we all kind of lost already. I was already pretty cynical about how many of these people we had in America, but the turnout surpassed what I thought.

That said, my rebuttal would be:

* As I said before, I really haven't seen much evidence that Trump being nominated was much of a result of anything the DNC did
* In a way, it could end up being good that all this shit was pushed to the forefront because it might finally be addressed head on (instead of just left to the side and continually dog whistled to keep them on the GOP side). There is a very real possibility that party is going to have to deal with these people after the election, and the end result of that might be they have no more political home and their voices become less powerful (even though they're clearly louder now). Similar to this, there was an article on The Daily Beast today as sort of a satirical "thank you" to Donald Trump for being so clearly sexist so that we could finally start a meaningful conversation about that topic instead of always having to start that conversation with an argument about whether sexism actually exists any more

Yeah that's totally the only reason the people of America find him to be even more unpopular than Hillary

And remember, it's important that he settled with no admission of guilt. That means he didn't do anything wrong

The majority of America thinks that Clinton and Trump would both lose against a strong candidate.

That Clinton has made mistakes weaken her popularity, but in no way make her this purely evil corrupt dehumanized entity. She is flawed, but dear god she knows how to craft policy and deal with world leaders. Quite frankly i'm not so sure she hasn't learned from her mistakes.

Trump has time and time again shown that he is a person who America doesn't want decisions filtered through. His personality, ignorance, inexperience, poor assumptions, negativity, and questionable decision making all point to a poor leader. He simply isn't capable of handling political maneuvering on the world stage. He cant even help himself to fat shame someone. He hasn't learned from his mistakes.

He is REALLY GOOD at entertainment. Putin doesn't give a damn about entertainment. He would befriend Trump and out maneuver him so fast. Trump TV will be cool.

All that being said, the core base that supports Trump really are struggling. As President, Hillary really needs to help that cross section of society.

Speaking of corruption and election rigging,

http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/analysis-north-carolina-counties-cut-early-voting-sites-see-lower-n671246

Quote :
"Seventeen North Carolina counties reduced the number of early voting locations from 2012. Of those, fifteen saw lower in-person turnout in the first two days of early voting in the state, Thursday and Friday, according to an analysis by Michael McDonald, a University of Florida political science professor and a leading authority on voting rates.

Several of those counties, including Mecklenburg County, the state's largest, saw only modest drop-offs. But in at least six, the in-person voting rate declined by around 50 percent, McDonald found. And Guilford County, home to the predominantly African-American city of Greensboro, cut early voting locations from 16 to just one. It saw in-person voting decline from 21,560 votes in the first two days of the 2012 voting period to just 3,295 this year—a drop off of roughly 85 percent."

Good thing the Supreme Court struck down the VRA, definitely didn't need that anymore!

5 points was the exact spread in CNN's last poll. If anything, this means the race has solidified, especially with Hillary getting so close to 50%. I think we're looking at +7-8 Hillary lead nationally if you look at the aggregate of national and state polling. The fact that Trump has literally no ground operation in most swing states and is depressing his own turnout with his "rigged" talk could turn this into a double digit blowout on election day.
