I like how your descriptions and completely inaccurate.

Your first link is a guy getting beat down by a cop, no liquid to be seen.

Your second link is at an Al Sharpton rally. Not OWS.

Nice find! Citigroup's been trying to scrub this document from the internet.

Quote :
"Citigroup attempts to disappear its Plutonomy Report #2
November 11, 2010Edward FullbrookLeave a commentGo to comments
The reports are available (for the time being: 20 June 2011 here and here

from Edward Fullbrook

In 2005 and 2006 Citigroup issued two now notorious but highly significant reports for the exclusive use of its richest clients. The first, from October 16, 2005, was “Plutonomy: Buying Luxury, Explaining Global Imbalance”. This 35 page report begins:

The World is dividing into two blocs – the Plutonomy and the rest. The U.S., UK, and Canada are the key Plutonomies – economies powered by the wealthy. Continental Europe (ex-Italy) and Japan are in the egalitarian bloc.

Equity risk premium embedded in “global imbalances” are unwarranted. In plutonomies the rich absorb a disproportionate chunk of the economy and have a massive impact on reported aggregate numbers like savings rates, current account deficits, consumption levels, etc. This imbalance in inequality expresses itself in the standard scary “global imbalances”. We worry less.

There is no “average consumer” in a Plutonomy. Consensus analyses focusing on the “average” consumer are flawed from the start."

I quite understand your sentiments and what you must be feeling right now as you are now cornered into defending violence.

At this point the foreplay is over. The image is ruined.

The democratic party and whatever it is you support is indefinitely tarnished as "one" with this violent, anarchist, nazi, communist, and moveon.org run movement.

You statistically have no chance now amongst the 'normal' masses for years to come and now at this juncture MUST resort to violence.

and it's predictions seem to be coming true.

Quote :
"A third threat comes from the potential social backlash. To use Rawls-ian analysis, the
invisible hand stops working. Perhaps one reason that societies allow plutonomy, is
because enough of the electorate believe they have a chance of becoming a Plutoparticipant.

Why kill it off, if you can join it? In a sense this is the embodiment of the
“American dream”. But if voters feel they cannot participate, they are more likely to
divide up the wealth pie, rather than aspire to being truly rich.

Could the plutonomies die because the dream is dead, because enough of society does
not believe they can participate? The answer is of course yes. But we suspect this is a
threat more clearly felt during recessions, and periods of falling wealth, than when
average citizens feel that they are better off. There are signs around the world that
society is unhappy with plutonomy - judging by how tight electoral races are. But as
yet, there seems little political fight being born out on this battleground.

A related threat comes from the backlash to “Robber-barron” economies. The
population at large might still endorse the concept of plutonomy but feel they have lost
out to unfair rules. In a sense, this backlash has been epitomized by the media coverage
and actual prosecution of high-profile ex-CEOs who presided over financial
misappropriation. This “backlash” seems to be something that comes with bull markets
and their subsequent collapse. To this end, the cleaning up of business practice, by highprofile
champions of fair play, might actually prolong plutonomy.

Our overall conclusion is that a backlash against plutonomy is probable at some point.
However, that point is not now. So long as economies continue to grow, and enough of
the electorates feel that they are benefiting and getting rich in absolute terms, even if
they are less well off in relative terms, there is little threat to Plutonomy in the U.S., UK,
etc.

lol wow. Ev IF true it gives the perfect answer on how to be a smart consumer and make money. Buy equity and invest in the companies that cater to the plutos and in essence you divide the pie and get rich with them.

Or you can go outside and spit on cops and be dumbasses and pretend the world likes you for leeching a free lunch

"Not all of those in attendance supported Occupy Raleigh.

Jeff Moore, a 27-year-old real estate investor who lives in Raleigh, wore a white T-shirt with the word “Capitalist” emblazoned in green lettering across the front. He says the protestors actions are misguided.

“This is how I was raised, you get to keep what you earned,” Moore said. ”If you worked and earned a living, the promise of America was you get to keep it.”

Another dissenter, Hans Mentha of Wake County, leaned on a walking stick while holding up a sign that denounced communism.

“They want something that other people have,” Mentha said. “And I’m sorry, but it ain’t gonna happen on my watch.”"

protip: if you really want to stick it to the 1% you should invest in stocks that build luxury items or high end retail.

You want to know how many ways there are right now... Today.,,,, This very second if you just get online and invest a portion of your money... how many ways there are you you can essentially begin to LITERALLY divide up the wealth of the evil 1% in your favor. (Since you've deemed it evil)

Here's how many:

"Raleigh police arrested 19 supporters of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement on Saturday after they refused to leave the State Capitol on Oct. 15, 2011."

Seems like peaceful disobedience, at least locally.

A Tea Partier, a Union Leader and a CEO were sitting at a table with a plate of 12 cookies. The CEO picks up 11 cookies, turns to the Tea Partier and says, "You'd better watch that Union guy, he's trying to take your cookie."

Young man ActionPants, there seems to be an itching desire for widespread violence as well as localized violence. It would do you best to simply remain calm and not assume that all others are as violent as you and your fellow protestors.

The Tea Party is a thing.

The Occupy Wall Street protests are a thing.

Therefore, by the transitive property of jumping to conclusions, OWS is the same as the Tea Party.

so let's raise taxes just 8% on top top 1% of americans.

out of those 2 million americans, (basically 1 in every 100th adult) about 25% of those own businesses in some form or another.

that's 250,000 businesses. maybe all of them in the country

let's say because of that 8% tax hike they have to cut 5% of their workforce

do we just pretend they have more profits in a mattress somewhere and raise taxes again to support the welfare systems of those newly unemployed citizens?

what comes next?
