let me know what the insurance buy out is. I wouldn't mind a dedicated track car with no airbags assuming there's no frame damage

^^b/c then I'd have to super/turbocharge it again, since I'm not happy with the stock power level.

^sure thing. BTW only the passenger side curtain airbag deployed.

Picked up an IS300 with a manual transmission last Friday. Replaced 2 O2 sensors, polished the headlights and spent half a Saturday on the interior. I'll never buy a car with suede seats again. They look ok now though. Fun little car but I'm thinking about slapping it on eBay.

So it could reach more potential buyers looking for a manual and so some yankee who's dollar is worth less than mine will buy it.

^bingo!

Since the Integra is kinda my DD at the moment, over the last few days I've:

-replaced the front passenger side fender lining (somehow a big hole was cut into it, away from the tire...human involvement?)
-replaced one door jab sensor, and then realized I need to replace the other one too
-replaced the interior blower motor fan, second time in 2 years (big PITA)

I thought the Integra was due for a timing belt in the near future, but after checking my records it was changed out only 34k miles ago! Was 6 years ago, but seems good

Near the battery? Seems like that's a common place for thieves to go through to cut the battery wire to disable most alarms. Maybe someone was planning to break in or steal the car and got disturbed.

Belts get old, harden, and dry rot. Age is just as important, if not more, than mileage (IMO).

if it's an interference motor, don't risk it bro.

^Yeah 6 years, but it's routine replacement interval is 8 years. I'll just be sure to inspect the belt.

Well lets see I was moving my truck in the driveway and now the passenger side wheel is full of gear oil.

Going into the holidays I just love making more work for myself!

Oil change and balance/rotate on the 4Runner's tires. Nothing major, but it sure does drive smoother at highway speeds now.

Aww c'mon a viper is the perfect winter car. Nothing like shit tons of torque, cold summer tires and no traction control to make driving interesting.

I know the feeling. add a 60/40 weight distribution and I'm skating with any throttle.

I bet mine's also more fun to crank in sub 40F temps with no intake heater, fuel heater, and a cut block heater cord that I forgot about until it was in the teens the other day.

Fair enough. I hate letting cars sit - I think it's worse than abusing them on a track.

Replaced both downstream O2 sensors on the IS300. Simple job was pita on one of them because it involved removing the passenger seat and jacking the car up. Also took my wife's IS250 to the dealership for scheduled replacement pistons and rings. The DI design is garbage on that car. Stay away.

Tomorrow I plan to replace a sheared lug stud (previous owner). I can't believe I didn't notice it until today - luckily the dealer had them in stock. I'm also going to replace a burnt out cluster bulb. I've got a replacement door weather seal on order too. It's dry rotted and whistling.

The Land Cruiser also needs an oil change. I think I'll pay a guy.

burned off a few tires this past weekend

rich AFR due to leaky charge piping coupler? or 24V cummins swap?

^ the coupler completely blew out two runs later, but i replaced it and drove 1.5hrs home without issue. as far as i can tell, everything else is still fine.

...in other news, i should probably use a catch can on my PCV, or at least vent it to atmosphere

i cleaned out the IC and all the piping yesterday. i'm going to another drift event on saturday with the PCV vented to atmosphere this time. i'll probably figure out pretty quickly whether the oil is coming from the PCV or the turbo.

my money is still on PCV though. these SRs are notorious for doing that. and it's had a loooooooong time to collect oil in the piping/intercooler.

but at any rate, as long as it still runs i'm gonna keep driving the piss out of it. if it ain't broke, i'm too lazy to fix it.

Replaced the PS upstream O2 sensor on the Land Cruiser. When I installed the headers I replaced the DS upstream because it threw a code and it was the side on the cracked manifold. Trying to save a buck, wish I'd done it back during the install.

Was trying to replace a rear bearing assembly on our Mazda CX 9 , but can't get the 4 bolts loose (T60 head)... My question is did I fuck up by trying to spray wd-40 as a penetrator ... Worried about it being flammable near the brakes... Ready to just put this shit back together and take it somewhere else...

Speaking of, any recs on somewhere that will take my part in hand and do the labor?

RPW 4-2-1 header is finally on its way.

Afterwards, will be researching to see if I should replace my header-back exhaust or stay with the 2.25".

After that, I will need to find a tuner.
