^^^what was the reasoning for that? Doesn't putting 275 tires on the front ruin the steering feel?

For the bike:

New tires (Michelin T63 full dot knobbies, 2nd set)
New brakes front and rear
Flushed both brake lines with new fluid.

On the way from Procycle arriving Saturday:

Lowered foot pegs (1.5" shorter I think)
Handlebar Risers (1" taller)

Should make the bike more comfortable to stand on for longer periods of time, as it is now I have problems shifting/braking while standing.

One of the Integra's front passenger brake caliper bolts (1 of 2) fell off last night while I was driving on I-40. Had a fun time figuring out what the noise was and why was my car braking severely weird

Hopefully get a new one put on today (and check out the damage that the caliper did to the interior of the wheel).

beat and banged on the front end trying to get the rotor off of the front of the dakota, completely rusted together. Found one of the hub bolts completely rounded off by a previous "mechanic". If I can get that bolt off I'll just replace the hub and rotor since the hub is the part I want to remove in the first place.

Put in new headlights.

Also, I figured out how the fog lights work on the car.

Still have my header in the trunk waiting for me to install.

FYI, 225/50/16 users: just came across these today. snag 'em while you still can. they're BALLS cheap.

welp, some motherfucker decided to scratch my Cayman. Bunch of up and down scratch marks on the passenger door Look like they were made with a key, but thankfully the marks are not that deep. And no, I'm not one of those pricks that parks in 2 spots.

I have a body shop in mind to take a look, but is there a place any of you would recommend?

^^nicely done.

On second glance, the scratches look as if they were made by a dog jumping up on the side of a car, not a key.

Also I remembered I have a $0 deductible on the car for vandalism/glass/etc so I filed a claim with my insurance company. Dropping it off Monday morning at Thompson Cadillac Collision Center.

Replaced the spark plugs, plug wires (they were dry rotting), and the throttle position sensor on my Civic. God help you if you have to replace a TPS on a Civic...Honda in their infinite wisdom decided you should have to get a whole new throttle body, so they cut the heads off the bolts holding the TPS on. You have to cut/drill them out. I could only get one of the bolts out, still waiting to see if only having one bolt holding the new sensor on is an issue.

Also swapped out the old leaky gas tank on my buddy's EF Civic for a new one...kind of interesting to swap out a gas tank, hadn't ever done that before.

Took the rear seats out of the ///M, time for a roll bar, racing buckets, and harnesses. Even for track days I want to have a little more protection, and the ability to wear my HANS in that car. It will make the car eligible for SCCA / NASA time trialing (including SCCA hill climb) as well.

New Trunk Struts. No longer driving around with a guillotine in the back.

Siliconed 14 bumper/tail light clips that were leaking water into the trunk area. Not hard to do, but such a pain in the ass trying to pull out 17 year old plastic clips without breaking them. 100% success!

Also..

These just in..

Big Red is back on the road after a 2+ month hiatus-

- 48RE transmission swap with adam8778 + lots of upgraded internals
- remote mount griffin transmission cooler mounted between frame and bedside (thanks to adam for spotting the locale); has a 185 on/165 off t-stat fan switch
- TCI outlaw floor shifter with a 2013 ram floor console - allowed me to mount shifter where I wanted and retain cup holders!!!!!
- Smarty SSR tuner; utilized their software (extra) to reprogram the computer from manual to auto... somewhat 'black magic' to me, but the tuner is bad ass (not quite as extensive as EFI live or the smarty equivalent "UDC")

^^ Just curious, why did you want an auto? Is it better for drag racing, or is it that it can handle more torque than the manual?

I've got a buddy who is actually swapping the other direction on a Ford Lightning, from the factory auto to a manual, and he's walked me through what he has to do and it looks like a pain...I bet it's an awesome feeling to get your truck back on the road after that swap

thanks teg!

^I'm a 100% fan of the manual valvebody automatic; that and I really didn't want to DD a manual 3/4 ton truck....because I'm one short legged fucker.

As for the transmissions themselves...from the factory in a dodge, the manual trans can take more torque, although the clutch is the limiting factor for torque capacity. The 48RE is rated for 800ft-lb, but they generally see more failure when the power is turned up.

FWIW, Adam and I were also faced with limitations on the swap - for it to have been a straight across manual to auto swap, I would have had to swap wiring harnesses with him, steering column, TCM, and a few other items that would have disabled his truck for longer and extended the build time.

Right now I'm watching to make sure I've not got any remaining leaks from the fabulous custom cooler lines we bent & made up.
