sounds good man. Definitely dug some of the parts in there; would sound good polished up, coming out of a real studio with vocals on it. The southern rock type part halfway through could be spiced up with a little more interesting of a lead and it could make that part stand out I think. The riff, around 2:32 could be tight with the right vocals on it too.

not a problem man; my worst nightmare these days is losing my music collection

Also, I love supporting NC bands still so I take plenty of opportunities to plug the ones that have been around for awhile haha.

Did anyone else go to the napalm death show?

the band collesium had ne of the sickest drummers i've ever seen. Think Punkrock oldschool hardcore thrashy Brann Dailor with a single kick and no gay vocals on a new album

Only decent video footage i could find, was better at the show though.

apparently presale for the new He Is Legend album is doing REALLY well according to Tommy. They have been in the top 3 for 3 weeks now for album purchases on SmartPunk which is a pretty big supplier and they are doing well on several other sites too.

their last album "prey for eyes" was pretty meh. But "Clients" was solid and "Fused Together In Revolving Doors" was absolutely awesome. I'm looking forward to new material and hoping its as heavy and cohesive as their first 2 albums.

Look, I know you people probably aren't into this, but Equilibrium's Sagas album last year rocks my face. They understand how folk metal should be done without sounding corny.

new Coalesce is great. A little too clean on the production side to suit their sound perfectly imo, but the songs themselves are certainly heavy and steer clear from the cliches that are wearing me thin on a lot of the metal and hardcore releases I've been hearing the past few years.

Still waiting for the Converge album. And Mastodon's latest is finally growing on me; weird how some albums are like that. Sometimes it just takes the right environment matched with an album for it to click and now I've really been digging it.

Also, Necrophagist is still rumored for a 2009 release...but in all honesty the same was said in 2008 (and probably 2007 ha).

newest Darkest Hour isnt bad. Obviously overproduced like crazy but its got some good solos on it and is decent "background" metal as far as just putting it on lifting or something; it has a good pace and is well put together even though it is nothing too creative.

Just picked up Obscura "cosmogenesis" after having it on my list to buy for awhile and it shreds. Definitely a necrophagist jr. but I guess it will hold me over until necrophagist puts out a new album.

I completely agree. I didn't think it was bad at all, but it certainly didn't have the initial "fuck yeah!" factor that Undoing Ruin did for me.

i've always seen Darkest Hour as overproduced "background" metal. don't get me wrong, i still dig them. just for me, since Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation, all their albums (to me) sound about the same.

again, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I can completely understand that. Darkest hour is certainly not one of my favorite bands or anything, but they kinda fall into the category that Unearth does for me: Yea, they are playing sorta generic metalcoreish stuff, but darn do they do it better than 95% of all the other bands similar to them out there.
