^Do you play for FC Rubbish? Are you saying I flopped when I had my legs taken out from under me last night?

Anyway, I have no clue what the score of the Cary Gunners game was yesterday, but if they won then you guys can still finish 5th on tie breakers, if you beat Raleigh Revolution next weekend. I'm pulling for you! Good luck!

Not sure who ^^ is, but that post was as ambiguous as it could be and you responded.

LOL, I do know that a simple foul was called, but you flailed about and screamed so dramatically that the ref stopped play to admonish you, which resulted in your immediate apology. I was three feet from you the entire play.

Anyway.....it was a great game. See you next year!

So I just got this in an e-mail. The City of Raleigh Parks and Rec says they are making future plans for parks, but they list soccer fields and basketball courts as low priorities, below walking paths and neighborhood parks. Here are some links that you might be interested in. TASL almost had Dorthea Dix, but they were going to only pay part of the costs and the city of Raleigh wouldn't let them put a gate up and lock the fields, so they chose not to invest.

So, my team's last game of the season was last night. We were up 2-0 at halftime so they let me come out and play in the field for the last half of the game.

Hit the cross bar, both posts, forced the keeper to make two great finger-saves out for corners, and then put my only break-away wide after beating the last defender. I was not meant to score

^So what is the highest level you played at and how good were you? I'm just asking because TASL offers Men's Open A, Open B, Open C, and Over 30 on Saturdays. All 4 leagues are good. I know people in each league, but at the current time I am unsure if I need people for my Men's C team. I'm still taking a head count. There are also different skill level coed leagues on different nights of the week.

Nah - for two reasons.

1) I work most weekends.
2) Hypercompetitive assholes who were never told they're not gonna make it as pro soccer players.

Mostly the first one. And a friend asked me to play on their team.

^LOL! Maybe I'm wrong, but I've seen over competetive people in my coed leagues too. I think you'll find that in every division. There are some real bitches in those leagues and the refs never card them since they are girls. One girl in Coed C threw me into the concrete edge of the Baker Roofing field just for legally shielding the ball.

To those unfortunate souls who find themselves on a "C" league team, I bestow warm greetings and salutations. As I need no introduction, I shall not introduce myself. That being said, I am H.W. Pennypacker. While I have been romantically linked with TASL's Donna Langdon, it is my financial backing of FC Rubbish for which I am truly ashamed. Thus far I have dropped over $2.3 million (in 1885 dollars) to recruit and train the sorriest players this side of Chapel Hill. While I have been assured by my board of directors that this season's results will be different, I have more faith in the Wright's silly contraption achieving powered flight.

If you glimpse a dapper gentleman in top hat and tails on the sidelines, that will be yours truly. When you encounter a pathetic squad of retreads in camouflage, that will be FC Rubbish.

Best of luck this season. I know we'll need it.

Insincerely yours with insincere insincerity,

H.W. Pennypacker, 19th Century Industrialist

Week 1 Men's Open C Sporting Raleigh vs Flying Dog

Week 1 Coed C Inglorious Bustards vs Happy Hour

If everyone is returning from last season then it looks like two of my 3 teams will be in a TWW Derby to start the season.

^Are you playing for Happy Hour again? I guess there really are no Derby games, just twwers playing against each other.

So what teams is everyone on this season? Once again I'm with Sporting Raleigh (Men's Open C), Inglorious Bustards (Coed C) and The Usual Jackals (Coed Over 30 Championship).

How do Big Country? I do say you, why are you maximizing your potential on Sporting Raleigh when you could let your true talent die a slow and painful death as a member of FC Rubbish? These are the questions that keep a 164 year old robber baron awake at night.

Good day, Stillcity.

I've always been fond of GIF-fers. The first time I saw one was in 1868. He was the village idiot. Poor lad could pantomime any silly action he had witnessed but if you asked him for the time he would reply "William Tecumseh Sherman."

Yours from the gentleman's club,

Good Day Web of the Wolf,

Thanks to the miracle of the World Wide Telegram, I have been informed that FC Rubbish is currently undefeated and unbeaten in Sea League (Why anyone would play football in the ocean escapes me). In celebration of these two marvelous achievements, my moving picture studio has produced the following short film titled "Super Shitty". I trust you shall enjoy it more than the clap.

Yours Yoursly,

Greetings from the malaria-infested jungles of the Belgian Congo! The Bittibattibooty natives are buzzing with excitement over FC Rubbish, and thanks to the World Wide Telegraph, I have since discovered the cause of their wild gyrations. It seems that congratulations are in order to my favorite investment (second only to the local gentlemen's club in these parts, Titsy Fly). For the first time in the club's 154 year history, FC Rubbish is both undefeated and unbeaten, an impressive twofer.

If reports are to be accepted, Matt "Ronaldo Messi van Persie Bale" Bowles notched four new marks on his golden boot belt. Newcomers Eammon "Michael Madsen" and Jason "Mad Dog" Martin also graced the scoresheet, an impressive accomplishment that will not be forgotten during their next contractual negotiations.

My favorite Rubbisher, Jose Manuel Corona, failed to squeeze a lime into the bottle, but it's only a matter of time before he makes a charge at the golden boot.

Also, Robot "Only The Good Die" Young competed in bacon socks. Naturally, his performance was sizzling.

In other news, Grant "Terrible Tackle" Turinsky made terrible tackles. And my thoughts are with "Camshaft" Cameron after his unfortunate knock. If he doesn't recover, direct him to the Belgian Congo and I will show him a good time at Titsy Fly.

Final nods must go to the last line of defense, Craig "The Condor" Connors, and the back line's field marshall, "Iron" Mike Peck aka "British Badass."

Well, all this Bittibattibooty brouhaha has left me drained (or is it the malaria?). Regardless, I shall celebrate this great result at Titsy Fly. Tonight the alluring Anna Conda is performing, and this 164
year old playboy has popped a blue pill in anticipation of some jungle love.

Your Benevolent Benefactor,

H.W. Pennypacker, 19th Century Industrialist

PS: My people have smuggled this recruiting film out of Norway. Expect a new Rubbisher any game now.

Inglorious Bustards won 2-1 in a cold rain storm tonight. Hopefully that is it for the wet weather and it rained enough that the make up game for my men's team is called off tomorrow.

Greetings Sir Big4Country,

According to the TASL memoranda, it appears FC Rubbish is competing against the balls of Apollo on Tuesday in Durham. I have never smoked this so called AstroTurf, but I hear they serve it in Chinese opium dens.

Best of luck to you and the lads in your next outing. Might I recommend giving Donna a thorough goings over with the tongue parts? I have been doing that all off season and it has resulted in a victory for my boys.

Seriously, I'm seriously screwed up,

Anyone interested in playing indoor soccer? Posted a thread about it but wanted to post in here as well since this seems to be where the players are. Our team needs players for our indoor soccer league at Dreamsports in Apex. Games are Thursday nights, cost is 102.50, and starts April 1st. The season runs for 10 weeks + 2 playoff games. Pretty good value when compared to other places. Thursday's are the competitive league and the field is in good shape (recently redone).

Just message me and I'll send you an email with a sign up link. Let me know as soon as you can so we can make sure the team is registered and ready to go.

Thanks
