Down 1-0 at the half and we had our chances. We shouldn't have lost that bad. Too bad my best forward and half my starting midfield wasn't there.

we didn't have either of our starting forwards either and another starter was hurt in the first five minutes. To mention, we had around 18 shots, so the score could have easily been 10-0 at half.

man, i'm just saying, don't kick the guy while he's down. you won, just leave it alone. it doesn't show very good sportsmanship to come in here and tell him his team sucks and you could have been up 10-0 at half when you just beat them anyway.

not to mention what it says about your team if you had all those chances in the first half and could only finish one. sounds like your strikers need some work...

I apologize if I came off unsportsmanlike, but I hate excuses. And I agree we need to finish better, but when we have people playing striker for the first time, I think 5-0 is a decent turn out.

5-0 is always a big win, no matter what team you're playing. honestly, our midfielders have been more potent this year than our strikers. (not saying our strikers don't score, just that a couple of our mids have most of our goals)

all 3 of our goals yesterday came from mids and our strikers were 0-fer on like 4 1-on-1 with the keeper. they were off yesterday.

LOL! It is over these two weekends because now my team has to play Hibernian next Saturday at 8:00 am...in Durham...at Twin Lakes Park. Hopefully both teams are sober enough to wake up at the crack of dawn and go play soccer. I paid enough to play in this league, so I expect to play 11 vs 11 every week.

I know I'm late to the discussion about SRSC vs Wingmen but there's no way it should or even could have been 10-0. Wingmen is far from the best team in the league and there's no way we get a 10-0 assbeating dropped on us ever. (well except the shepherds house of war assbeating of 13-2 last season)

Also, take away the random handball that awarded you guys a PK, our completely botched PK (still can't believe I didn't take that for him) and danny's unbelievable finishing ability during that game that I never once witnessed when I played on IMs with him and it was a much closer game. I'm willing to admit an assbeating when I see one but that game was much different than the scoreline says.

I did enjoy the game regardless of the result though. There are at least 7-8 ex-teammates on your squad who I love playing with and it was one of my better performances as of recently, especially considering I played a full 90 minutes for the first time in years.

anyway, next up is Hibernian and hopefully a respectful result will come from it.

If we could just score it would be a little harder for the other team to win. My team has been shut out in every loss and shut out Raleigh FC when we won. As you can see though, my team is better than last years. We should get some wins over Newcastle and Royal Pains at least.


Also lol at the grammar police ref in the middle. I yelled "GET BACK! THERE IS NO OFFSIDES ON A THROW IN!" Then he said to me, "It's pronounced offside, not offsides."

Then one of my teammates subbed out and said while they were in the game one of the HFC players was knocked down and asked the ref to call a foul. Then he said something like, "How can you be playing soccer when you aren't even wearing soccer shorts."

btw, hats off to HFC. There was nothing my keeper could do about those goals. About 5 inches higher, or to the left on the last one and we lose 2-0.

your keeper had a really good game yesterday. i think we had a few more shots that should have gone in, but he made a couple really incredible saves. hats off to that kid.

we didn't field our best team yesterday because we had a shit ton of people out of town and injured. we had our 3rd string goalie in as well, but i think we still played decently. but you guys played pretty well (and have definitely improved since last year... i think mostly due to having a dedicated keeper). that asian kid on your team should never leave the field either. he's by far your most talented guy.
