Ruckus FC was supposed to play yesterday, but the game got rescheduled because of problems with the WRAL fields.

On another note, anybody got a line on some good fields to practice/play pickup on? The Frat Court ones are no good anymore because a set of asshole CASL coaches have decided to hold practices there on Wednesday nights (maybe other nights too).

CASL is a valid reason to hate soccer.

Some decent looking (albeit quite bitchy) soccer milfs out there too...

^^^Do they even have the right to do that? I think every open field is either used for CASL practice, or pickup games every night of the week. What was wrong with the WRAL fields? Men's Open C has to play on those on Saturday. There are 2 games ahead of mine and I would like to scout before college football starts.

Also, there are two full size goals randomly sitting in the red circle next to that church on ten ten road near Cary/Apex/Holly Springs. I don't know the name of the church, but my guess is they own the field and the goals since the only parking lot in the area is at the church. They probably don't want their parking lot and field to become the next hot spot for pickup soccer/practice during Bible Study at night. They used to have 1 big goal, then 2 little goals, and now 2 big goals. You could always find out the churches name and contact them to see if they allow the public to use them. I have never seen anyone playing sports in that grass area. The grass is probably about the quality of frat fields.

Ok, after noticing the name of the church on the map, I have found its information and schedule. Wednesday nights starting at 5:15 pm the church has events going on till...????????? Thursday is Flag Football.

CASL teams controlled the Frat Court fields tonight before the thunderstorm passed over. Has anyone tried Tuesday nights at 7? I know Friday nights are good.

^The guy on my TASL team that told me about those fields, said they play pickup there every week night at 7:00 pm. If the CASL kids don't take them over then there should be a pickup game.

Not sure if they do or not. Something tells me that they have zero business playing there.

The WRAL fields had some potholes in them. Specifically the Centex fields did. Donna didn't find out about them until Monday when the folks from the complex called to tell her. They should be fixed by now, though.

Maybe tww should get the freshmen to have another lame flash rave at about 4:30 pm at the frat fields right before practice starts. That would get rid of them.

Ah damn! I just got a message from my goalkeeper saying he had his work schedule change and won't be able to play this season. I have no luck with keepers. Since my team was formed in the spring I had a guy sign up to play keeper who had never played the position before. He sucked, so I let someone else play, but then he was average and I chose to go in goal. I'm only average myself. Then I found someone who wanted to play keeper for us half way through the season. He signed up and then contacted me a week later saying he wasn't going to be able to play. This means it is two seasons in a row that we probably won't have a keeper.

I'm right there with you. Luckily we have one guy who is very skilled both on the field and in the net that doesn't mind playing at least a half as GK. It worked out ok last night, first game of the new season (in the O-30 league) and we won 10-2 with only 1 sub on the bench.

I should have played coed in retrospect. I bet there's a lot less douchery in that league than the Men's prima donna league.

Hopefully we will be too. This week we have some of our top players missing. If they are back next week then it will be a good game.

See you tomorrow. I'm going to the first half of the SHW game probably and then going to the second half of your game.

GASP!!!

YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE TEAM!!!

i feel so used

but seriously - i'm excited about our first co-ed game!!!!! i was sad it wasn't this week but oh well. i hope more girls come out to practice on sunday funday. and i hope it is actually chill for games cause i don't want a number of things on my scary list to happen. i don't want to get yelled at if i suck or have people be angry with me. i don't want other biatches from other teams to like try to beat me up and hurt me (i dunno, when i played soccer in HS there were some scary, manly girls). and i don't want to be the worst player BUT i already feel pretty confident that i won't be the absolute worst. i'll be in the bad category but not the absolute bottom of the barrel

i'm def excited though. i still need to get shinguards, though. i keep forgetting. and socks. i only have white and green ones.

you can tell it is co-ed because i spend time obsessing over my uniform matching haha

oh and p.s. i'm not a man

Hibernian FC 4
Newcastle 2

Hibernian bounces back from an opening day defeat with a 4-2 victory over Newcastle today. We scored early and about 25' in off a free kick from just outside the box. A defensive lapse allowed Newcastle to score right before the break, and a similar gaffe allowed Newcastle to draw even just minutes into the second. The game went back and forth with Newcastle looking the more dangerous side for the next 30 minutes. The last 10 minutes of the game were all Hibernian as we were able to put the game away with some crafty ball work and efficient passing that led to two 1 on 1s with the keeper. We netted them both to pull away late.

Fin.

Robin scored a header and Jimmy scored the other 3 I believe.

Voss also scored one that was disallowed. He apparently was offsides on a free kick...

^^I was unsure about you, but I do think you will do us best at center midfield even when everyone shows up. I'm pissed because I just got schooled by my ex-teammates and I sort of got into an arguement with one of them online at the end of last season. Then he started a summer heat team and took the top players from last season. Oh well, I'm glad to have all twwers that I have because you guys are better than the players that totally quit playing Men's Open C. We just need to pass short better.

btw, FC Blizzard won either 3-0, or 4-0 vs Royal Pains.

Flying Dog is one of the better teams in the league and I think they tied SHW at 0-0, but I am not 100% sure.

^There is a 39 year old goalkeeper in the free agent pool who is looking to play Coed 30+. He was going to play for me in Men's Open C. Then when I told him he needed to pay $27 dollars to TASL and pay me $101 dollars he said he wasn't interested. I don't know how good he would be though.

Lessons learned:

JT doesn't leave goal until we find a keeper on level pegging with him.

I am a CB until we find someone better.

JT is going to yell at me a lot to hold the line, and I'm ok with that.

I am going to be a hardass to these people who refuse to show up to practice.

Well he is an important part of the team and seems to do well building up the attack by breaking down the right wing. I'm going to have to tell the rest of tww to not let him do that this Saturday.
