Ah damn! I wish I would have known. Will, me, and some of the noobs played pickup tonight at Cedar Fork Park. Tomorrow there will be a pickup game on the upper frat field at about 7:00 pm. Try Davis Drive Park at 9:30 am on Saturday too.

6-5 win tonight for us, it was a close one but I think against one of the better teams in our division.

Still looking for a full-time GK though...Thursday nights at NetSports. If you are decent and want the practice you can play for free this season, the team fee is already covered and the guy playing in the net now would love more time on the field.

^^The guy on my team that plays there said they play at about 7:00 pm M-F. Maybe that has changed with fall leagues starting and school starting.

Does Jkumar923 still play for Hibernian? In the old TASL thread kiljadn said...

btw...I blew it on 3 of the goals that were scored in the first half. I should have made the save. The other guy can start next game. If we had more subs we might have been able to run a little more and not get beat so bad.

^Well hopefully he won't next time. We didn't have enough subs to hang with a team that has a bench a mile long. Hopefully we'll have more next game. Maybe you guys should have a Halloween Eve Eve party and stay up late before the next game.

I think everyone on our roster showed up today. That's the first time that has ever happened, and definitely was the most people we've ever had at a game.

I have my theories as to why we had such a good turnout...

honestly, teams usually do better without subbing so much. 4-5 subs is the most you really want to play well...unless you have a team full of people who are all out of shape in which case you prob wont play well anyway

just ask d7, he played worse as the game went on cause there was too much subbing. i noticed several players like that. its hard to get a feel for the game sometimes when you sub too often

yeah, as time went on i just felt more and more off my game. i was really focused to start and lost my rythym towards the end of the game. plus, i like to get as many minutes in as i can anyway.

That would be ME and some of my teammates too.

And yes I agree d7, Royal Pains does not look good at all. I have seen them get their ass kicked multiple times already.

The other problem with adult leagues is we all have lives outside of soccer. It's not that everyone wouldn't like to be there every game, we just have weddings, funerals, work, and vacations that get in the way sometimes. That is why I need to up my roster size.

Yep, we learned that lesson the hard way the first season. Now we've got a big roster. Like I said though, today was definitely the biggest turnout we've ever had. I've got no problem with people missing games for adult stuff we've all got to do, but I don't want flakes on the team that just decide not to show up.

We've got a pretty dedicated group of guys, thankfully. And playing together for a few seasons has definitely helped us improve as a team.

not a frequent poster, but indeed the 4th goal was mine. solid effort today by the hibs. I think the numbers should even up and be around 5 or subs every week, this week was a special circumstance.

btw, the guys from my side that helped start the WWE royal rumble in second meeting in the spring have either quit playing for now, or switched to Garden City Eagles. If you're still pissed about the way the spring game ended (even though you won) then take it out on them.

I will actually be cheering for you guys in that game. Multiple guys told me they couldn't play because of work, weddings, etc and then somehow were able to play for Garden City Eagles. Others said they were returning to my team, but wouldn't sign up and then somehow managed to sign with Garden City Eagles. Their captain was telling me at the captains meeting that he contacted other guys from my spring team and asked them to play for him, but they couldn't. He tried to steal my entire team from me and leave me with the 3 shit players who actually quit (thank goodness). The way everyone treated me made things 10 times harder this season when it came to organizing the roster. mad: I wouldn't be pissed if they had just said they were switching teams and sticking with their summer heat roster, but they didn't. The two English guys that are total hotheads play for them. KICK THEIR ASS PLEASE!

Yeah, because the refs really do NOT give a shit, as evidenced by their failures to learn even the most basic of the rules (offside) and apply them consistently.

^Yeh I don't know about some of those offsides calls yesterday. I think Hibernian got away with one in the first half and my team might have been screwedout of a goal once.

I'm pretty sure I was onside the one time I was called off. (When you came out and kicked the ball away) I think a few times our forwards were faster than your backs and the defense got the benefit of the doubt. A couple of our guys could run right past your backs.

^Yeh I was shocked that there was an offsides on that, but I had my back to the ball when it was kicked and didn't even see who kicked it. Then they said offsides. You guys crossed one into the box on the ground and scored in the first half. I thought that was offsides. Maybe it wasn't though.

SHW 4 GCE 2

HFC 7 SRSC 0

I was told after the first game in the spring that we shouldn't have lost to SHW because they are a crappy team.

^^^ i don't know who told you that, but they were dumb. SHW has always been a pretty quality squad. they'll probably have to move up after this season.

^ yeah, they looked like poo Saturday

BTW, Ruckus got crushed again last night 6-0.
2 games in and we've conceded 12 and scored 1.

^Welcome to the club.

It was the English guy in the midfield that plays for GCE. His old team that folded was good enough to beat SHW, but Sporting wasn't and his new team isn't either.

honestly, that is crazy that he thought SHW was weak, they are pretty decent, i think we coulda won/tie the first game against them if we had some defensive subs and our goalie wasnt hungover and missed the game. 3 goals should be enough to win any game imho

^I might have a spot for you because harmemou has said he may be quiting to join a different team in the spring. I hope he doesn't though. I just upped my roster to 19 today by adding 2 players. That is getting close to having too many players on roster, but I would be willing to add you in the spring as a gk. I'm sure we'll probably have multiple players quit again.

The sun is setting earlier, and the end of daylight saving time is approaching. I'm not aware of any fields that have lighting at night during the week for scrimmages. Is there an indoor site that allows scrimmages during the week?
